Everyone is nice and snarky today. *drops smoke bombs in their undergarmets*

Anyway, I have about $130 worth of stuff to blow up, huzzah for me. I'll be making sparkler bombs and stuff as well.

I agree. I remember being so facinated when I was little. Last year I went and it was just... meh.

Ok, when you have one sparkler, it is an utter joy to light and write your name in the darkness and whatnot. Well when you have two sparklers side by side, the effect of each sparkler is magnified slightly as the heat from each helps the other to burn faster, and thus send out more sparkles albeit a little faster.

Now take 50 sparklers. Tie all of them together, and stick one out the top. Do a 1, 4, rest effect if you want. Light the first, it'll go down and light the next tier, the next four will go down and light the other 50 or so. It is just amazingly pretty when the massive lump of them go off. As like I said sparklers have a sort of exponential thing going, the more of them, the larger the sparkle radius and so forth. The effect of about 30-50 is around a meter radius of sparkle that goes off in around 10 seconds, the end result being red glowing hot :D

It's as safe as any other firework (i.e, it's a stack of explosives kids like to play with), but gives you a feeling of accomplishment equal to the size of the bomb.

AAH!! Sparklers! Evil! EEEEEVIL!!! *hiss*!

I hate sparklers... I have had a fear ever since I touched one after it had been lit and gone out; and believe me, they hurt. (Why not see for yourself ;))... anyway, I like fireworks... they are nice... but they aren't as amazing anymore... They used to be like "here you go. One sparkly grenade!"... and now they are like "Sure, you can have fireworks... but only if they aren't explosive..." <_<

I have had a couple of bad experiences too... like when one fell over and shot off at us XD... no one was hurt though :D...

erm... I like the less common, crazier, zippier ones. Ones that aren't like all others... and fizzle is a very nice word :P

I love Bonfire night. Something about standing around a bonfire eating jacket potatos and candy floss, all wrapped up snug and watching fireworks go off. I just love it.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to any displays this year as I'm going on holiday Sunday morning and need to pack and whatnot. :(

I like fireworks a lot, I can only watch them for about 10 minutes, though, and then I get bored. The only time I ever really get to watch them is the 4th of July, though. I think it's illegal where I live to set off fireworks without permission first (like you can't set them off in your backyard or anything), but people do anyway.

Things are going to be very noisy tomorrow - tonight I've seen loads of firework displays going off already on the drive home, all I can hear now is the distant pop and bang of fireworks going off :)

Our town's Bonfire Night was back in September (a procession of local bonfire societies walking through the streets of the town centre, followed by a large firework display, huuuge bonfire in the park and a large travelling fair. Great fun!).

Nobody seems to do my favourite type of fireworks anymore though - the really big bangs. I guess they were deemed too dangerous to animals or potentially damaging to humans or something... they were great - a firework display would always culminate in a huge barrage of rockets, some of which exploded in a huge burst of pretty colours, and others which just emitted a flash and the most ear-splittingly loud bang you can possibly imagine. As you slowly regained your hearing you became aware of the chorus of car alarms that had been set off. You just don't get that these days...
