Which character in super smash brothers melee do you think is the best?

This can be based on the character's speed, moves, and overall abilities, or just on who they are if you have never played super smash melee

Out of those, Kirby (I can run away easily and have the smashing hammer), but out of the game Roy is also 1st equal.

I like Dr. Mario, and Mr Game & Watch

Definitely Fox. He's fast, and he has strong attacks for his speed. His Up Smash attack is one of the most powerful in the game and it doesn't take long to charge at all. Unless someone's playing with a faster character that they know how to use, good luck.

Going by the tier though (it's probably been updated within the last year):

I think Shiek was first, Marth Second, and Fox Third. Could be wrong though.

Shiek, of course!!

She has like, the best aerial attacks ever. And she can even change to Zelda if you're getting bored XD.

Fox is ok, I guess, but he falls too fast and I'm not used to it. And Kirby is sort of cheep >_>. And Yoshi doesn't have a good recovery Up-B move.

I'd say Falco.

I'm nigh on unbeatable with the ice climbers.

His falling speed is a great advantage once you get used to it. Most opponents can't accurately hit you while your falling at your full speed. You can also throw in fancy maneuvers and you've got a hard-to-hit target. Still though, Sheik is deadly if you know how to use her and has some wicked aerial moves. (but I stll prefer Fox's aerial moves as I'm more accustomed, though I use Sheik as a secondary character).

I've never found Kirby much of a problem. A few well placed upward smask attacks (with most characters) can take him out. His Down+B can easily be dodged and most of his copied moves aren't that great of a help (though Samus' blaster works nicely for him).

For the simple fact I love Yoshi. ... The Mario-esque Yoshi. Not the PPT one.

Kirby. Give him the right ability and he's even better. Lots of jumps, super fast A attack, and invunerability to almost anything in rock form. What's not to love?

Roy. I can pound people into the ground with him! His sword combos send people flying. And then I use the charge attack on them. Then they just die.
