What did you name your pet(s) and why are they named that? I'll start. I have one cat named Holly. I got her two days before Christmas so I wanted a name that fits the season but since she's black and grey I couldn't do a snow themed name. I like the carol Deck the Halls so Holly ended up being her name.

My two dogs are named Spike and Cloey, and they were named that when we got them so we didn't change them.

My cat's name is Spangle, and we got her along with her sister Starr (she ran away) on July 4th, so that's why we named them that.

My other cat is named Princess because of my mom, but she is not royalty at all, she's the spawn of Satan himself. <_<

My guinea pig is called Scruffy because he's an abyssinian and his hair sticks up everywhere.

I adopted two cats named Grace and Josephine. Apparently, they were named after famous actors.

My puppy's named Numi.

I was gonna name her Naomi, but my stepdad hated it, so we looked up where Naomi originated, which was No'omi, Hebrew for "pleasantness". I just changed the spelling. =)

My dogs name is Shifty. I called him that, because at the time I got him, I was a Crazytown fan, and the lead singers nickname was Shifty.
Later in time, I figured the name fit him well because is a rather sneaky dog.

Our canaries are named Chirple and Ashley. I would have called the female one Williamshakespeare, but my sister insisted :P

My dog's name is Sam. We rescued him from the SPCA and one the way home in the car, we were trying out a bunch of different names until one came up that we liked and he responded to. We call him all sorts of names, though, like Sammy, Sambo, Sammers...we usually only call him Sam when he's done something bad.

I also have two gerbils, a grey one which I named Toby, and a reddish-orange one named Rusty. My sister also has 4 gerbils, named Annie and Ash (the girls) and Bandit and Charlie (the boys). She got Bandit and another gerbil which she named Smokey from the pet store, and they were SUPPOSED to be two boys, but it turned out Smokey was a girl, and on Christmas morning we found that they had babies! That's how I got Toby and Rusty. The mom died a few weeks after they were born, though. :(

Cat: Bart
Bunny: Maya

Mom's Fish: Sho, Shira, Kuro, Kori, Senya, Usagi, Ryuko, and Spoon. (There are more, they just don't have names because we can't tell them apart)

My Fish: Bason (He's a betta who's big, red, angry, and not very smart. Lives up to his namesake pretty well.)
My Snails: Hana and Hime

I think that's it. We had a wild rabbit named Briareos for a day or so, but he was really badly hurt and he died.

I have three dogs and three cats.

Dogs:
Ginger: My parents were really into Cream when we got her (this should give you a hint as to how old she is) and they named her after the drummer. Oh, and Ginger's a typical beagle name.
Ceilie: Honestly? No idea. She came to us after her old owner died. She's a poodle, by the way.
Ruffles: When she was a puppy, her fur made her look like a little girl in a ruffly dress, so I named her Ruffles.

Cats:
Milo: He was named after the cat from Milo and Otis, which is a terribly cute movie. He is also referred to as Dracula or Eddie Munster because he's got this weird widow's peak marking on his head. (He was briefly named Daisy as a kitten, before we got to know him... )
Zip: I think there was a Beanie Baby named Zip who was also a black cat.
Treeflower: There was a character on some cartoon named Treeflower, and she looked like her.
