Hey,

I want to buy a gift for a teacher of mine who's birthday is coming up soon. This teacher went out of her way to give us stuff and help us out during the year so far, so I want to say a nice thank you. Any ideas would be great. Thanks! :)

buying things for teachers is can be difficult

If the entire class wanted to help, buy a really nice scrapbook and decorate it. Get each classmate to write a page about the influence your teacher has had on their life and why your teacher's great.

Well, when my oldest was in kindergarten, the teacher used so many post-it notes to send us notes home, we gave her a cool set of apple shaped post-its for Christmas to replace all the ones she used. ;)

You can get her a really nice pen. Teachers are always losing pens. :) Is there one of those Chicken Soup books for teachers? That would be cool. :)

The pen idea is good :)

Flowers also go down well. If you want to get her a few things, get her one thing she can keep forever and flowers.

As a thank you to my food teacher for helping us out so much and spending her whole day at school for our open evening, we got her a box of chocolate and a little teddy bear. That way she had something she could eat, but also something she could always keep. =)

Are her ears pierced? You could give her earrings :P Or, if not, a scarf or something? xD

I think the Chicken Soup for the Teacher's Soul is a great idea.

Or as Jasujo also mentioned, nice stationary or a fancy pen.

I think the book is a very good idea. It encourage her to continue to be a good teacher and it is something that she can keep too. You may want to write something inside the cover and she can never misplace your message.
