Well, after bringing up your ideas to the Coaches and speech team... and showing them T-shirt designs using SPEECH WARS lightsabers, speech the other white meat, and level 26 debaters.... they actually ended up liking the iPod parody idea best! Thanks a bunch for your ideas guys... the speech team thought they were a hoot!

Heres the concept I'm using now:



But I do need help with one more thing....

I need to come up with a "slogan" for the shirts.... and with the iPod thing, it would only be perfect to parody there new phrase "now with 15,000 songs!" (which increases every month.... "now with 50,000 songs!" "Now holds 1 million songs." "The iPOD supermini has the capacity to hold 62, BILLION songs!"

So... for a speech team, whats a good way to parody this phrase? I put something like:

SPEECH TEAM 2006
Now with 15,000 Songs
and 8 Minutes of Non-Stop Talking


....because in general, our speeches are about 8 minutes long.... but we do it 3 times every tournament.. so.. um.... yeah. any ideas with that? Any other ideas with the thing in general?

Not exactly an idea but just something to point out, instead of ISpeech shouldn't it be iSpeech. Since in all ipod type...things they always use a lower case "i" then the actual "I". So iSpeech/ISpeech. Just pointing that out.

I was on speech team for about 15 minutes freshman year. It was really fun, but most of the freshmen got bumped out of slots because there were too many people on the team.

I like what you've got so far, but I agree with Blk Mage that it should be iSpeech.

For your Harry Potter idea: how about Harry debating Voldemort? It could be really funny depending on how you draw it.

Star Wars/Speech Wars: Darth Vader doing a monologue? Or possibly a Sith vs. Jedi debate.

Rent: We had a few problems with people going over their time limits when I was on speech team. It became a running joke that when someone was going over in practice we'd start humming "Seasons of Love". So, maybe someone doing a monologue with a caption that says "He's been going on for 525,600 minutes..."

Um...Lost is really popular right now, and there's a lot of things you could do to parody it.

(Okay, my ideas are kind of lame. But it's 1 A.M. here.)

Maybe the Star Wars logo saying "Speech Wars" or something...

If there's one event which the team typically dislikes or makes fun of, you could do "______: the Other White Meat"

I personally like Extemp: the Ultimate Challenge, but that's just me. (I do extemp)

Theyre very simple, maybe a tshirt more complex.

1. Employ Murphy's Law.
2. If they're smart enough to be in Speech, they're smart enough to understand puns.
3. Make fun of other events in your school/area, or that of your rival.
4. Feature a "quote".

ie:

Even though there's no chance of any of us knowing math like the Math Club, we can still state, "Pie", faster than them!

Sorry about not responding for a while, Ive been hard at work on this, actually!

I changed the "i" on the original, now making it "iSpeech"

There were 3 other ideas i really liked that I got out of this:

- I made one that said "Speech - The Other White Meat" with a funny cow on the front, and "Speech 2006" on the back with a slab of raw meat! funny!

-Im working on making a videogame-nerd thing parody, with a little hooded guy or zelda-like character, and sticking little hearts and health bars around it, including equipment (in this case, a briefcase, tie, and a book) and It will say "Level 26 Storyteller" only people could maybe put whatever thing they want on it. On the back it would simply say "Speech 2006" with a little pixel sword on it or something.

-I like the idea of bashing other things.... i dont want to do it against a rival school, but it IS an inside joke that our school sucks at sports, but or foreignsic league is HUGE in our state. Our one act play at least goes to state every year, and other speech teams tremble in fear when they go up against us. Maybe we can poke some fun, pointing out that theres a team that actually wins at our highschool... the Speech Team!

I think on the front it would be:

while on the back it has a large unfriendly mace with 'My supporting evidence' or 'All the justification you need'.

I don't want to instigate, but it seems rather pointless for you to get worked up over a shirt you'll never even see.

That aside, what REALLY offends me about that shirt is that beef is RED meat

...That's why PORK is the other white meat.
