Time consuming? Nah. It's not really anymore time consuming than you allow it to be. Myspace is what you make of it. If you want to use to learn about music in your area but not make friends, then you can do it easily enough. Honestly, I never go out looking for friends (except for a handful of RL ones) or even bands. I just wait for them to come to me (which isn't all that frequent, so not terribly time consuming).

I often find that if I have one band listed in my friends list, I'll eventually get 'friends' request from other bands. I listen to the music that they have on the site, and if I like them, I add them. This allows me to get bulletins about concerts and stuff (which is especially good if the band actually happens to be in my area). It's really quite nice to be able to hear good music that isn't being played to death on the radio or something.

I got a myspace just to make one of my friends stop nagging me to get a myspace. I've done nothing to it, basically. So, on the off-chance that anyone cares: yay for neglected myspaces!

I find it amusing that I have one friend on myspace and everyone from here that I've looked at thus far is in my extended network.

I just got it last night, and it took me ages to finally get the layout to work. It was SO confusing at first, and I had to ask a bunch of my friends for help. I felt so stupid.
