I would have to agree!

One of my friends has a deck with three psychic drains in it- pay X black mana, your opponent discards X cards from his deck, you gain X life.

Last time he used that deck, he won- with 224 life. Ow.

Numerous Tournament games... No wins :P

What can i say, im not happy without a totally illegal dragon deck.

Totally illegal decks are fun, I especially like my Unglued/Unhinged deck. Its great to see your opponent get you a drink because of a card effect :P .

Which can be quite effective if you're playing at a school with soda available.

Pffft.

May some dark being bless Beacon of immortality on Panoptic mirror (doubling your life every upkeep...)

Yeah 3000+ > 224

Heck, I've had thousands and lost because I decked out first (it was pretty much a situation that neither one of us could have won in...

Anyway, figured I'd go ahead and type out one of my decks that I just severely altered. I just make them with whatever I have, so there really aren't an "uber" cards, just bits and pieces. x_x

It's basically a Spirit/Saproling Token deck. Panoptic Mirrors to constantly spawn tokens every turn, convoke so that I can just tap tokens and not pay casting cost on some of the cards, Blah blah blah.

I think Coat of Arms is probably one of the best cards in the deck (though Worship has been my favorite for some time). 10 1/1 spirit tokens turn into 10 10/10 spirit tokens. I was thinking of putting Orochi Hatchery and some other card I can remember the name of (it was an equipment where if you equip it, target creature gets +1/-1 and if the creature is put into the graveyard, you draw a card) and mix that up with Twlight Drover. Of course, that would only work if Glorious Anthem wasn't in play so I put it on the side. Rune-Tail is pretty good, though all a person needs is a single "destroy all enchantment" card to total dismantle my dead, but I rarely see people using those.

Haven't used this one yet, but I'll find out if it's any good tomorrow...

Your use of smileys is dubious.

Of course, Psychic Drain is always good for those "get rid of all of their library's cards" decks, but.... I'm glad I can buy those.

Your use of modern cards when good old Dragon legends, Dark rituals and pretty much anything with the word "sliver" in its name is more than a match for a modern deck.

Course i cant make a deck to save my life so they dont count.

I used to play; but quite and sold my cards when I left for boarding school, about 6 years ago. (I actually made a consideranle amount of money, although I put it towards my school because of complicated issues)

Now, I frequent the M:tG forums and make custom cards.

I started playing M:TG about 10 years ago. Tim actually taught me a bit after we had first met. :) I love green/white decks and Tim likes blue/black with Hypnotic Specters and Tims (I can't remember what they're really called. Some kind of Apprentice, I think? We just called them Tims. lol). My favorite expansion is Ice Age, back in the day when expansions had decent stories. :P I haven't played in a while and we stopped collecting shortly before 8th edition came out. The editions/cards just started getting too complicated and darker after the Weatherlight expansion and I lost interest. I've been eyeing the packs as I pass them in Walmart, so maybe I'll get some new cards soon. ;)

Im sorry but a Plane that is waging a war on its gods, the unholy child of Kharn who went nuts due to Phyrexian oil and an entire plane that is one giant city with ten guilds vying for power aint cool?

(Kamigawa block, Mirrodin block and the newest block, Ravnica)

I really got into the Kamigawa story, but unfortunately the only one I read was the last (which a fairly mediocre ending, but that's beside the point). I was planning on getting all of the MtG books, but I'm still stuck with only the Saviors of Kamigawa book (which sucks because I know I'm missing so much from the beginning of the block).

Jas - Haha, my friend has 3 or four Hypnotic Specters and Abyssal Specters in his deck. They are such an annoyance. x_x

A couple of my friends attempted to teach me 1 or 2 years ago, but it was too confusing IMO. Although, what's funny is that I play and understand Fluxx, where the rules are always changing.
