Just noticed this when I got one from the wheel of excitement.

These can be used as part of a magic spell or fed to your pet as a delicacy (if your pet can handle them).

What is this magic spell? There is an option to use the jar on your pet.

Neoitems says nothign happens if you feed it to your pet, but if I read your post correctly there's also an option to 'use' it, as well as feed.. correct?

I'll keep hunting :)

Yup, thats what I got when I used it. Makes me wonder though, is there a certain pet that will make the jar work? Like a halloween something?
