I never thought I would ever vote for Green Day but out of the two choices, Green Day is my vote.

Ooh! Hard one this week.
After much throught, I've decided to vote for U2, basically because they both rock, but U2 has got more great songs than Green Day.

Same here (I think). Musically, Green Day isn't that bad (except many people allege the music for Boulevard of Broken Dreams was stolen from another song. You can find them lpayed over each other on the internet.) However, I cannot support a band that is as flamboyantly anti-American as them. I like U2 because they have good music, and Bono does good work without randomly accusing world leaders of wrongdoing.
If we're going by music only, I still go with U2.

Green Day: 3/5
Lyrics:
U2: 4/5
Green Day: 1/5
Longevity:
U2: 5/5
Green Day: 3/5
Visual appeal:
U2: 4/5 (they're getting pretty old)
Green Day: 2/5 (guys shouldn't wear eyeshadow, even if they do look like Elijah Wood)
Non-band work:
U2: 5/5
Green Day: 2/5
Total:
U2: 22/25
Green Day: 11/25
By the way, I think you need to include some older bands in this. Journey is a must, and the Eagles would be good, too.
