Howdy Doody.

Basically, every year for my school I do most of the money raising for various charities, and I've raised quite a bit previously. This is my last year so I really want to do something big.

I've approached the school admin (Yay for teachers, I haven't been able to even talk to the principal. I have to go through her secretary with notes), and I got rejected for doing a slave auction which is reasonable I guessed, But i'm annoyed anyway.

I did get approval for a talent contest and non-school uniform days.

Now any other suggestions would be great, the charity we are rasing money for is the local childrens hospital (yay!), and there are a few things we've done previously so wnat to avoid, ie - Head shaving and raffles.

Any suggestions would be great ^_^

Baked bean baths!!! Of course there is the task of finding a bath to think about...

If you can do that in the hall or something and get sponsered for it - OR better still bribe teachers to do it! More people would want to see that.

Talent show is a good idea!

Nude jelly wrestling! They do it here were I go to... well not nude.. but practically nude.

What impresses me is how you take the intiative Marcus and just do it Like how you take the initiative with the podcasts. You rock. Don't ever change that. EVER. It's a very admirable quality.

We did a Slave Auction. Students, Sixth-formers and Teachers all took part . I think it's unfair that you can't do it.

But approach them with a teacher's sport day . Doing hockey, football, basketball etc.

One year at my school, for charity, the history teacher and the biology teacher went into some stocks and everybody could throw sponges at them (i think it was something like 20p a throw)

You should shave heads.

My old HS raised something incredible like 15'000 dollars by shaving the heads of their teachers. It was awesome. The higher you got, the more known the teacher who'd do it. They even got a couple women to do it. It was pretty impressive.

My college did the same thing, and the president of the college (who was nearly bald) got his shaved. So did a girl in my program (said she would if she could raise 100 bucks, she did, no more hair.) it waspretty impressive. Raised about the same amount as my HS did.

About a year and a half ago zorg shaved off his hair (he had dreds) for charity - raised over $1000 (AUD) i think.

I remember last year when we had a prefect auction.... so much fun having a prefect for a day! Too bad you can't do it though (they earned tons of cash from that!)

Haha, that would be awesome at my school. I would so totally win the auction for my english teacher (she's been teaching for 30+ years, she's ancient). Ahahaha...

I would've guessed that. Believe me, if there were a slave auction at my school, the media would be all over it. You basically can't even say the word "slave" anymore without being called a racist. Other than that, it sounds like a great idea. You just need to word it differently to make it sound more politically correct.

Here's another idea: Every year, the orchestra kids at our school go around selling candy during class, because you can't get it anywhere else. It might not turn as much of a profit, but it's a good idea.

I met a guy with dreds who grew them for 8 years.. they were long as. He said when bits broke off, he just picked them up again and twisted them back into his hair.
