Seriously. Oh. My. Gosh. It's unbelievable, and its cheap. Try it before you go out and spend tons of money on whittening stuff. It makes a noticable difference after a day.

umm.. is this true? is this clinically proven to be safe? um... if this worked, why dont people do it more often?

Arm & Hammer (the company that makes the baking soda that you see the most often) makes a whitening toothpaste. I used it for a long time and actually didn't see any difference. It just took a while to get used to the taste.

I just use Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste and Crest Pro-Health Rinse. I've only been using the rinse for about a week, but I've definitely noticed a difference in the color of my teeth by using that.

Not sure if it actually works, but it should be safe. I occasionally have to put a baking soda in my mouth when I have a canker sore (I think that's what they're called?) and I'm fine.

If it does work, it's likely they don't even know about it. =P Or the taste is weird. Either one.

Warning: Scientific Content!

Baking soda does wonders due to its chemical make up, NaHCO3. It is basic so it reacts with the natural acidity in most object. Since it creates CO2 when mixed with acids, it causes bubbling sensations and burping when eaten. Since it leaves no hazardous residue, it is perfect for so many applications where contact with humans is required.

Wiki - Sodium Bicarbonate

Here is the main whitening ingredient in some whitening products. It is in Rembrant toothpaste, and I remember seeing it in another product as well. Other products use other compounds such as silicon compounds and other less harsh compounds.

Science content over. Enjoy!

Yeah, my science teacher told my class about the baking soda thing xD I've never thought of trying it, but now I suddenly want to. Too bad I can't right now, becauses I have braces and it'll look weird when they're taken off and I have little squares a couple shades darker than the rest of my teeth xD

I wouldn't recommend whitening strips. Apparently they really weaken your enamel (the outer bone of your teeth.) This I also got from science ^^;

Get dentures. Dentures are always white. And you just leave them to soak overnight in this chemically stuff...easy really!

Rofl you have got to be kidding me. Ew.
On the Baking Soda part I haven't tried it myself but I read in some tip book that it could be used. Just don't swallow it or anything-- not that you would-- because it might be bad for you then. As far as brushing, try it!. Can't hurt I'm sure. Google it to be safe. :)

I used Crest Premium Plau Whitestrips, and they worked great. The only problem I had was, that when I had them on, they kept falling off my teeth. If you use them, you should keep them on for longer than the suggested 30 minutes at a time. They only tell you that to get you to buy more whitestrips.

Some girl I know puts on all the whitestrips in one night. It makes your teeth uber white and fast, but she has chemical burns on her lower gums. :o

Ok, I've never heard of Crest strips, but they sound effective, so I'd like to try them! Are they only available in America, or have I just never seen them in UK shops?

They probably aren't available in the UK. You could probably order them on the internet, though. If you're going to do that, be sure to get the Premium Plus variety. Also, get two or three packs. One pack won't cut it.

because the government wants you to buy pointless products that you could do without
like you can make coffee out of acorns...
and we can grow our own food
but that doesnt stop producers...

It's hardly the govt making us buy things. Producers produce because most people do not have time to do it. Not to mention, to grow enough vegetables and STORE them safely through the winter would be impossible for the vast majority of the population.
Coffee made out of acrons, tastes different then coffee made from coffee beans. Hence why theyr'e called "coffee beans". There are connosieurs of the beans that would probably start to cry if they were given coffee made from acorns.
Govts don't make us buy things. Convenience, space, and demand makes us buy things.

Why not just go and get your teeth whitened by the dentist? That's what I'm doing.
