I didn't have a christmas pet.
I didn't have a christmas petpet.
I had over 10k on hand.
I went every day except one.
I usually went within the first few seconds of the prizes being collected, to try and beat everyone to posting it here, (:P) apart from on weekends.
I didn't get it.

I'd really like this sidebar too. Thank goodness I actually got the Valentine's sidebar this year, I was getting tired of the same old yellow.

I did NOT get the sidebar.

I have a Christmas Pet (Not active).
I do not have any Christmas Petpets.
My active pet was my Sponge Moehog.
My active pet's petpet would have been a Harris, less than 100 days.
My other petpets were over 100 days, and all besides my lab pet had petpetpets.
I would likely have had betweeen 10-30k on hand.
I have the Let It Snow avatar, as well as all the Advent avs.
I have 4 pets. (1 lab, random species; 1 sponge, Moehog; 1 Christmas, Peophin; 1 Island, Lupe)
I had no sidebars besides the regular yellow one.
My active avatar would have been Destruct-O-Match II, Ice Cream Machine, Soup Faerie, or Hannah and the Pirate Caves. (The first two are most likely.)
I had collected every prize every day.
I had my prizes in my SDB, although I did not have all of them.
My inventory would have only had Fishing items and Omelettes and Jellies.
I went through Terror Mountain, not the news or any other method.
I watched the animation all the way through on the first page, not the prize page.
I believe I watched it twice.
I would have collected my prize between the hours of 8:30 and 10am NST.
It's likely I had Advent prizes in my neohome.

That's all I can recall, I hope we're able to spot a pattern soon.

*Edit* Realized my active pet was not my lab rat. It's been corrected.

TNT were talking about "meeting requirements". They explicitly stated that it wasn't a random thing. Watching the animation for a certain time or clicking on a specific second or entering the page through Happy Valley or things like that is random, since there's no way to know it beforehand and it is based on pure luck.

Therefore it has to be something logic, which disproves a decent number of theories suggested so far.

Just HAS to be ~one~ thing that those who have it did, that us others didn't. I've been thru prior threads plus this one & have list of who DID get:

14 people did ~something~ the rest of us didn't. ...and... they did it before the 31st, since it was awarded during 31st's prize collection from exactly 12:00:01 forward thru the day.

Questions for you lucky ones: Did your pets open any or all of the crackers or giftbox?(same day or later?) Did you feed any or all of your pets the advent food items? (same day received, or later in month?) Did you paint one or more of your petpets with the plushie brush? (again, same day or later if answer is yes)

Anyone else have any more specifics that might be potential? (Is ~not~ 1.collecting every day, 2.winter/christmas/snow pet or petpet, 3. Amount of nps on bar 4. advent avatar 5.Watched animation in full 6.inventory items didn't seem to matter)

No. I opted to keep them closed for resale.

No (I assume you mean the petpet paint brush, and I didn't use that until January).

Also, concerning the pet's mood; all of my pets were at different levels of "happy," but none of them were delighted.

I got it. After reading through the various have/have not/did/didn't lists I can add a few ideas.

1.There's a complete collection of Calendar prizes in my SDB. Because many of those from 2001 finally reached a value of 1K or more, and I had hoarded tons, I sold them in my shop which I hadn't done in prior years. While I doubt it's selling a specific AC item that triggers the sidebar, I have a list of what was sold. It includes olive, strawberry and blueberry snowballs. There's also an almost complete collection of snowflakes in the SDB. In my gallery are various snow and Christmas paintbrushes.

2. Because the value of some of 2001's items had increased so much they made nice Christmas gifts. Again, I kept the list and many of the gifts I gave contain the word "snow": Olive Snowball, Snow Blumaroo, Snow Aisha, Snowman, Strawberry Snowball. Another remote possibility is "Christmas": Christmas doglefox.

3. Like many other people, I keep my inventory stuffed with cheap items in case the pant devil decides to steal something. In my case it's snowballs. Sometimes I move some to my shop, where they stay unpriced waiting to go back to fill spaces in the inventory.

My best guess is that snow or snowballs has something to do with getting the sidebar.

You know, I think my Acara was equipted with a couple of snowballs.... I probably had one or two sitting in my inventory as well, and I certainly had several in my SDB.

I'm sure I had snowballs in inventory, too, for same reason - wide variety of cheap stuff for pant devil & friends to steal or turn to sludge.

The gift-giving of something 'snowy' might have possiblities. I handed out all kinds of gifts, but don't believe anythng was specific to 'snow'.

Curiouser & curiouser... o_O

Don't think I had any equipped on pets, though.

I had two snowballs in my inventory and three in my SDB that day (none equipped to my battle pet) and I did not get the avatar, in case that helps.

Here's another thought that occurred to me after reading several boards...

For anyone who has the winter sidebar, did you ever sell any of your advent items? I did not get the sidebar, and I didn't sell a single advent item from this season, they are all snugly in my SDB.

So two strong possibilities: Snowballs EVERYWHERE! Shop, inventory, sdb, (gallery?), ~and~ equipped....

or gifts given of snow/christmas/winter?

I know I did sell advent prizes but was usually extras I'd picked up. Have all this years & most of last years.

Are we getting anywhere yet?
