Like a Sims 2: Online type thing. Didn't they have that with the first one? Some type of MMO system?

But yeah, that'd be great to have. But I think there could be lag issues and such with something as powerful as Sims 2 (although there really isn't any with WoW or the other MMORPGs from what I've understood. Well, the good ones anyway.)

Yes, there is a Sims Online. I've heard both good and bad things about it. It's apparently a lot more cuthroat then the MMOs I'm used to (Asheron's Call, City of Heroes).

I would never bother with an online Sims 2 game, as I use the Sims 2 to escape from people. ^_-

Yes, there is one called "The Sims Online" [link], but it never really took off because it didn't have many features. Plus, you had to go out to Best Buy and buy the game, then pay a $10/month subscription fee.

I think they should have an exp. pack to TS2 that enables you to go online.

An online expansion would be suitable, however, you're most likely still going to have a monthly fee (bandwidth ain't free). Games like Guild Wars aren't of the highest quality, and have been suggested that their money will be in the expansion packs.

Sims 2: Online Expansion (or whatever) would most likely have some kind of fee, mainly to support the bandwidth costs of maintaining such a large place. However, the features may not be as massive as the base game.

Just look at Sims 2 on the console: sub-par in comparison to the original version.

Well the sims online is more of like, you control your character and chat with other people isn't it? I read a whole online article on the BBC website (phs, whereelse?) that alot of young people who play it just get jobs as pimps and prostitootes and its rather crude!

I dont want to litterally converse with a freind over the net, just have my sims ABLE to and have other people controled sims in the neighbourhood,

Ie - i'd ask them to marry me and they'd say *I have to go think about it* and then next time my freind who controlled that sim logged on, he'd be able to anser Y/N.

Something like that wouldn't require major servers on Maxis's part and we'd be downloading off eachothers computers, so it'd be kinda simple i'd say.

I think it'd be fantastic, some of the plots would be like *locked* for certain players, and you could have alot more emotional drama in your sims neighbourhood, and financial and emotional sabotage (everyone would be woohooing with everyone else XD)

Sims Online got boring after awhile....playing pizza and earning money for items got tedious and the inflation was insane

I want a expansion pack where you can actually go to School, it would be pretty cool. Bullies and shoving people into lockers would be extremely awesome!

I'm still under the impression that Maxis will beat the franchise into the ground.

There's not much more they can do aside from just cloning their Sims (original) expansions, and elaborating on them.

Despite the fact my computer can't run the games, and the possiblity of an accidental concept that I don't like these games, I'm really looking forward to them. I'd play this expansion if I could.

I just hope the businesses are lame, and actually amount to something.

A "Hot Date 2" expansion would work wonderfully with the new technology and graphics. Given more things to do.

"Nightlife", that was a Sims 1 expansion, right? I can't recall and I don't feel like looking it back up.

Actually, you have it sorta backwards. "Hot Date" was TS1 only, and "Nightlife" is TS2 only. "Nightlife" is basically the TS2 version of "Hot Date".

My computer can run the games, but it's slow at times because my graphics card is the default one that comes installed on it (I got this comp at a Circuit City, so the card is basically the Intel chip). If I were to have a real video card, the game would probably run smoother.

I suggested that "Hot Date 2" would work as a Sims 2 version of Hot Date 1, I knew Hot Date was a Sims 1 expansion.

I also wasn't sure if Nightlife itself was a Sims 1 expansion.

Thanks to you, I've rediscovered that Nightlife is Hot Date 2.

You have my thanks.
