Ugh, lice are horrible. >.< I used to share my hair brush with friends after gym class and one time I let this other girl use it and the next day I got called into the nurse's office and she found lice. >.< It turned out the girl was found with lice and they asked who she might have come in contact with and she said she borrowed my brush. Nice way to treat friendliness, eh? lol We had to get special shampoo and all. My mother wasn't the best, either, but life goes on. ^.^

I finally got rid of them by using medicated shampoo, and my mom had to "nit-pick" (that's actually what the process is called; it's extremely tedious, which is the origin of the saying). Anyway, it was a nightmare. I hope I never have to go through that again.

You guys make it sound so common. I've never seen lice in my entire life (at least around here)

Eww, the picture!! >_<

Poor soldiers in World War I too... there was a lot of lice then. If I was living in that time, I probably wouldn't have survived very long = =.

They like little kids best, because little kids don't know not to share hats, hairbrushes, combs, helmets, etc. Also, when you live with a few other little kids, it's inevitable that the lice will get on something and transfer to you. (We figured out that I got mine from a couch). I think lice and things like them are only in certain areas, but it doesn't have anything to do with temperature. They live on your head, and everyone has about the same body heat. If someone who has lice goes to another place, they'll go with them and be just as infectious as ever.

I did too... but I HATE that show, and it's really annoying when there's nothing else on.

Kind of ironically, I was told that by my friend called Ginger who always says 'As Told by Ginger!" when she tells a story.

thats how i meant it. once one poor kid has it it just transfers all over. i feel bad because this past summer we had 4 girls get it, but they didn't come to camp with it, so it had to have been brough in by someone else that we didn't notice, who then passed it on.

I got it in the middle of pre-kinder and my mom took me out of the class because just about every non-English speaking kid in there had it and was spreading it to everyone else. Gah, what a pain. >o<

I got them in kindergarten. I don't remember anything about the experience. I haven't had them since then. However, one of my friends had them a while ago, and so I got checked, and I didn't have them. Soon after that, my head started itching, everywhere and at all times. So I got checked a few more times. Still none. Daddy says it might be dandruff combined with winter's dryness, but I've had the former for at least a few years, and this is the first winter this has happened. I got a special shampoo, but it doesn't work...and everyone's sure I don't have them.
