What's your favorite game soundtrack? For me, it's a 3-way tie:

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Tales of Symphonia
Sim City 4

Super Smash Brothers: Melee
Chrono Cross
Soul Calibur 3 (and 2)

I'd have to give honourable mention to Sonic the Hedgehog 1-3 and Zombies Ate My Neighbors as well. :P

:P And Sonic & Knuckles...
I may as well list my favourites from the series...

1; Scrap Brain zone, Starlight City
2; Chemical Plant, Hill Top, Mystic Cave
3; Carnival Night, Ice Cap
S&K; Flying Battery, Lava Reef (1 over 2, probably my favourite overall), Death Egg

I dunno really about others... MGS series is very atmospheric and fitting to the genre. Theme Hospital deserves an honourable mention. Oh, and Final Fantasy is catchy.

Quite a sheltered world here.

FF VI - VIII
SSBM (I love the Smashing Live soundtrack, performed by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and given to Nintendo Power members)
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Chrono Trigger/Cross

Most other FF and Square Enix games in general have good tracks on them, but those are my favorites of the series.

Meet Burnout Revenge. Just browse through it. It's obvious it doesn't tell you, but you may find it.

EDIT - Click music (on that page), then click EA playlist. Then look at the first song. I suggest you listen.
Enough said.

So true. The only downside is that they didn't use the show's soundtrack in the game. That would have been so cool.

Ahh, that would be awesome. Server Water Capital Aqua Anu, though...-drools-

I used to be able to play it on the flute before my braces.

Argh, Skynet beat me to saying FF6 and FF7. Blast you!

Um, aside from that, don't diss FF9's soundtrack.

(Although in my opinion, the Kuja theme and the Beatrix-kicks-your-butt themes should have been switched. Either way, the Beatrix-kicks-your-butt theme could have played at the end of Disk One, the Kuja theme is less dread-inspiring, and the crumbling-stone feel to the music is better off not associating with an otherwise cool character with a name that derives from the Latin for "female warrior".)

Oh, and the Sims 2 soundtrack is simultaneously distinctive and so inoffensive it will never become annoying.

Do what you will; but I will hinder it if I may.

SSBM has amazing music, I agree xD. (my favourite is probably the Fountain of Dreams one... or the Onett one)

I love Fire Emblem's as well =). LoZ : OoT's was all right... I liked the Ocarina songs, but the dungeon music was blergh... (except the Forest Temple. I absolutely loved that little two note motive =P).

Nintendo games have amazing music =). The Fire Emblem Theme, Legend of Zelda Theme and Mario Theme are among my top songs.

I'm currently playing FF: Crystal Chronicles, and it's music is great too, so I guess that tells me something about the whole FF series xP.

EDIT: omg I forgot Paper Mario !

Anyone who understood the "The Matrix Trilogy" is a nihilist.

Mortal Kombat :P Oh and Digger T Rock. I also like the music on Myst, Karma and American McGees Alice but that music is almost the sort of stuff you could meditate too.

I loved all the theme music for the towns and cities in the Pokemon Gameboy games. I also really like the music from the Donkey Kong game for Super Nentendo with Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong.

Heroes of Might and Magic. I think I like the music from the third one best, but the second one is up there too. It is all excellent music though, in an excellent game.
