It's been a thousand years. Maybe the differences in coast line between the TCG and the site are meant to show the passage of time. That wouldn't have much to do with the plot.

When you join the astronomy club and get your telescope, and go to the observation room, you can view the stars, and looks like we might have to chart the stars, maybe according to the gems. I am going to try and see what happens.

you don't need a telescope. just go to board 6 and it lets you join

The flyer to to the Astronomy Club is on the board, click on it and join the club. You get a telescope, take it to the Astonomy Tower and place it in the holder.
