I have an IQ slightly higher than that, so you know there must be something wrong with the test.

IQs aren't an accurate way of judging peoples intelligence anyways. So i'm not about to put a lot of stock into this. They're biased and innaccurate, so I could care less how high anyones IQ is. True smarts are shown by what you do with your life, not by how you score on some test.

I have to agree. In fact, I despise IQ testing (and no it's not because it says I'm dumb, my IQ is above average but that doesn't say anything at all since in a lot of ways, I'm not "smarter" than "average"). If you'd read Stephen J. Gould's The Mismeasure of Man, you'll get a sense of why I despise it. IQ testing was initially used to identify learning disabilities. It's not supposed to "measure intelligence". In fact, the inventor of the test said that it should not be used to measure intelligence in any way (especially in people without learning disabilities) because it's inaccurate and the ramifications can be quite serious. And it was true. IQ testing was a tool of the Eugenics movement (basically scientific racism) to disenfranchise people deemed unworthy (often according race and ethnicity). A lot of people were sterilised without their prior consent or knowledge by state governments (recently, there's been lawsuits about this). Besides, how do we even define intelligence? That's highly debateble. But that's enough of me on my soap box. Pardon me for getting worked up, but I feel strongly about this issue.

And six cats? Man. Adam is such an old lady. ;)

Don't be afraid to see the truth, even if no one wants you to. Be yourself and not a fool. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind and listen to criticism. Dissent is keeps our country progressive and willingness to challenge yourself is what keeps yourself ever evolving.

I don't really believe IQ tests are that great either, but it still feels pretty good when you get a good score. :D I've done about 5 and have gotten within 2 points on all of them.

IQ is supposed to show POTENTIAL rather than ACTUAL intelligence...if that makes any sense. And the entrance for Mensa...at least in the UK.....certainly isn't 130, it's 150 (I know this because an ex-girlfriend took the test, got 152 and was all smug).

I don't put much stock in IQ tests either, but if you remember that it shows potential then it becomes more reasonable sounding. Besides...I have a stupidly high IQ (tested 3 times through Mensa to check) and I work....in a shop and have no Alevels. Go figure :)

Well, IQ tests given in the US don't directly correlate to the IQ tests given in the UK. They have different standard deviations, and different baselines for 100, as I recall.

This isn't going to end up like that one Twilight Zone where the kid sends people "away", is it?

That's a pretty amusing concept--a society of smart people. I wonder if there's a society for dumb people? :D (like me)

Hahah, he probably teleported to your house by sheer mindpower rather than just walking over.
