Once upon a time there was a girl.
Her name was Erin.
She had a father who found a turtle.
Then he showed her the turtle.
She liked Mr. Turtle very much.
But then her 1 year old puppy, Sarge, found out about Mr. Turtle.
He was not happy.
He barked.
He scratched.
Mr. Turtle was sad.
Mr. Turtle was frightened.
So Erin & Erin's father got sad about their two pets fighting.
So they let Mr. Turtle go.
The end.

That's my story.

Ack.. o.O I'm sure Mr. Turtle enjoys being put outside rather than living inside of the dog's stomach.

Perhaps an enclosure would have been better to keep the puppy out.

Eh, yeah.

Imagine, one minute you have 2 pets, the next you have none?

*phew*... i like that ending... well, i mean, i wish you could keep the turtle, but i guess its better then having the dog lick its lips and spew up turtle everywhere. Hehe, sweet dreams now :P goodnight!

Awww, that's sad :( I'd be so upset if I had to get rid of one of my dogs.

Gone, forever.

I'm sorry Erin couldn't keep poor Mr. Turtle and that Puppy didn't like him. :( Mr. Turtle was probably a very nice and good turtle too.

Maybe Puppy was jealous of Mr. Turtle?

Thats so sad. I had something similar happen to me.
We found a turtle on the road, stopped, brought it home put it in the tub. Then it turned out to be a snapper and nearly took my friends hand off so that was bye-bye mr. turtle.
Couldn't you have just... gotten an aquariam or something, put it in a room with a door, and when no one was around to keep the dog out, just shut the door so the dog couldn't bother it?

I once had three red slider turtles. The biggest one was Brad, the smallest Mark, and the middle one Randy. (Guess where I got those names from ;))

Anyways, when we moved we took them with us, and our dogs played with them. We had to let them go in the end because they were too big. (Brad was the size of the quarter when we got them. When we released them he was as big as my hand today o.o). We actually only released Brad and Mark, because we gave Randy away before we moved.

Why not keep the Turtle in a cage? When I had a turtle, we kept him in a cage :3 My cousins have turtles, they keep them in this swamp-like enclosure in their back yard.

I don't remember, but I'd have to say maybe 4-5 years.
