Altador Plot Split #32

Hey guys I'm new but I've been following your steps since the beginning
I think I have the same problem with the Farmer, I used both helps to find the constellations and I Just can't get the farmer, the web that give the coordinates says:

Found The Farmer:
267,-345
187,-405
197,-485
327,-435
307,-465
347,-475

But I Can't find those stars in the Map or the telescope..I've done all the steps and even the lenny archivist has my clues (the farmer one too) but nothing....Is it gonna change or is the end of the road for me??

Excellent. Finally, one of these scenarios have shown up.

Here's what I want you to try:

Cut-and-paste the following link to your browser and hit enter (this must be done in the same browser window you used to go to altador/astro.phtml?get_star_data=1 and get your star data):

You should get a number on the browser window that says "4". If it says "0", then it didn't work (either the coordinates are wrong or you are not at that point in the plot yet).

Go to the Lenny at the Archives to see what he says (and to doublecheck if this worked). Alternatively, you could check the gems above the Farmer statue to see if they've been activated.

By the way, unless your Farmer coordinates are exactly the same as above, this should only work for cruelly_innocent.

Neopets is rather glitchy today. Is it possible we are back to a situation where some servers are giving bad data? More people than usual are not able to post or find their stars even with the helper programs available.

Just wanted to doublecheck this, but you're using the same browser to do all the run-up stuff (like visiting the Farm and the Archives) as you are using to get your star data, right? Reason I ask is because some people who had problems before were on different accounts at the same time (which is possible if you use two different types of browsers at the same time). While they were looking for clues on one account, they were getting the star data from another, so the two did not match.

Anyway, it had been decided the best way to doublecheck your plot and constellation status is to go to the Lenny at the Archives and ask to look at the clues thus far. If you are supposed to be looking for the Farmer, the Farmer clue should be listed.

BTW, I don't think your coordinates are wrong (at least not for that star map you used to get those coordinates) because they are exactly like ours (which have been successfully submitted and accepted) except, of course, in a different location in the sky. It has to be something else.

Well if it does not fix itself I believe there are other browsers you can try although I am not that familiar with everything out there. If you go to netscape.com I believe you can still get an earlier verions of the mozilla browser that would have its own engine, cookies and such and may not have the same bugs. Maybe some one else here can suggest others.

Netscape got bought by AOL. Netscape 8, also used by AOL, uses MSHTML.DLL to render. This comes down to basically IE with a Netscape skin. Netscape 5/6/7 is based on Mozilla. Earlier versions are based on Mozilla (Seamonkey) however as that complete suite was abandoned and the package was splitted in several components (Firefox for browsing, Thunderbird for e-mail/Usenet, etcetera) later versions of Netscape are based on Mozilla Firefox. Then there is Netscape Communicator 4 and Netscape Navigotor 3. These are based on Mozilla, but before the project went open source, in other words this is what the Mozilla family is based on nowadays however the Mozilla family is heavily improved throughout the years and the older out of date Netscape versions miss several standards and may not implement several standards from after 2001.

What it comes down to what i am saying here above is this: "not worth trying" / "not worth wasting your time on".

You could try Mozilla (Seamonkey), the complete suite. Regarding web-browsing it shares a lot of code with Mozilla Firefox though. You could also search the Bugzilla database to see if you recognize the bug, and if not, submit it. That way the bug, assuming its in the browser and not Neopets, may be fixed in Firefox 2.0.

You could also try a different browser but your options are limited: Opera is one. Pretty known nowadays. Another one is Konqueror which works on UNIX operating systems and perhaps in a year or so on Windows. MacOSX comes with Safari; Safari is almost completely derived and compatible with Konqueror as its based on its rendering engine, KHTML. But that doesn't work on Microsoft Windows and Konqueror on that OS is future talk.

I'm using several extensions in my Firefox. You may find that some conflict with some websites such as Neopets. If you stumble upon a bug, try to reset everything to default settings. Create a second profile and use that, just to see if it works correctly then.

For example i am using a cookie extension. I block all cookies by default. When i want to accept a cookie i click in my statusbar "accept cookies this session" or "always accept cookies". This is user-friendly and easy for me, while not getting too many cookies which i never asked for. However this mechanism does not work with the telescope for whatever reason. So when i use the telescope i go to Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Cookies -> And there i accept all cookies from all sites (incl non-original / 3rd party) and then the telescope works. Afterwards i put this off again.

You may also just use a different browser for parts which do not work on Neopets.

Maybe 'getting up to' is a clue to which statue we're looking for next. Maybe one that can fly, or who is 'up' a lot. Or maybe it's just the way they decided to phrase it.

My theory is still that it is the Thief next. It's just the suspicion in the Janitor's sentence that seems to imply that to me.

Yep. I would try to describe it, but the only phrase I can think of that CAN describe it is 'getting up to'.

It actually means 'doing'.

Well, I'm British, and I don't use it that often. But that may be just me - I certainly recognise the phrase, despite it not being one I use regularly.

I don't think it really matters. Somebody will find it when it is released whether the clue is relevant or not; we're just speculating. But, when we know that something has been released, it makes it a lot easier to find - I found out about the Farmer by myself, just by knowing that something had been released. It is a lot more satisfying when you find something out yourself.
