Does anyone actually know of people who shop from these places? I just can't understand why anybody would pay those crazily high prices.
And then also how do the owners make any np? I'm assuming they must get a decent amount of custom, but i can't understand why?!?

For quests sometimes.. if you dont have a friend on or something? Other times, newbies get fooled into thinking that theyre good prices.

I don't even bother with malls if I get a faerie quest. I go to the auctions or trading post, because sometimes you can get a good deal if someone puts the item you need in a trade with, say, some food stuff or what have you. I just think malls are pretty much a waste of time, though they do look all appealing and sparkly.

I never understood the appeal of malls. They're ridiculously expensive (at least the ones I've been in), and I can never find anything in them because they're so darn big.

Don't you also think that the accounts for each mall shop might be a bit of a waste? I wonder if any of them have pets or just spend their whole time playing games/doing whatever to get NP.

I don't bother with malls. In fact, large images keeping me from the items I want will actually drive me away.

I agree. If I have to scroll down too much, I'll just go to another shop. Especially when doing jobs - time is money, you know...

Many people I know make considerable amounts of profit because they take advantage of new players that are on a faerie quest and don't know what the shop wizard is. The reason why few people on PPT buy things from malls is because we are generally more experienced players, and know about the shop wiz. People literally make millions off of malls, and I've considered joining one a few times, but the problem is 1) maininting it and 2) upgrading shop size to main market size would take a huge chunk out of my budget.

Considering that the shop wizard has been out longer than the idea of neopets malls have, they were already pointless to begin with.

I am in a mall, my shop is size 249 and i do the Furniture/Gardening section... used to make about 40k a day when I had petpets, havn't had furn/gard long. It's just more of an on-th-side thing. I still rs and play heaps of games.

It's because of the newbies. Like me, when I first get into Neopets, had no idea you can use the Wiz during quest. Is under 13 and thus cannot use the board. And thus, go through among the so many shops in the Markerplace to get to Quest items. Gosh that was painful.

Not to mention the fact that, back in the day, the largest stores had big shiny shop pictures in the market place which were at the top of the screen. Nowadays they have piddly little ones down the bottom and the shop wizard is bigger comparatively.

That change must have angered a lot of mall owners...
