Yeah, I believe that 866 and 877 are the new 800 numbers and are free.

Yes, they ran out of numbers for the prefix '800' so they started using '866', '877', and '888'.
I remember when they did it, I think I called an '888' number just for the sake of calling one, as it was new and different. I was a weird kid.

The next one to be distributed, if memory serves me correctly, will be 899.

They're all free to call, but you may need to pay for a service. (Like Ms. Cleo, your psychic friend!) If it's a 900 number though, don't call. Some cost up to $2.99 per minute.

I'm just popping in and out. Maybe I'll be back again.

Some lines can be a real rip off, and sometimes you have to call them to sort out problems.

I had to ring Nokia, to sort my phone out, for 60p/min

And they keep yapping on!! grr

I think over here it's 1800 that is free.

1-800-588-2300 EMPPIREEE TODAY!

Ehehehehe, it's the Empire Carpet store commerical jingle thing. It always gets stuck in my head.

Here the only free ones are 800. We don't have 877, 866, etc.
