How would you feel about -your national anthem- being sung in something other than -it's original laguage- and why?

its the american national anthem, so im pretty sure its supposed to be sung in english...

Well, consdiering that the USA Census had to be printed in 6 languages, it doesn't really make sense to only have the national anthem in 1 language.

but the census has nothing to do with the country's history and culture

changing the language on the anthem can be compared to changing the language on the constitution, it doen't make sense to change something of such importance to history of the united states....

I wouldn't like it if someone sang either the American anthem OR O Canada in another language. It's basically destroying the song, in my opinion.

Probably because last I knew, we all spoke English here. If you want to live in America, do it legally, learn our language, and don't live 15 to a house.

English, or rather, a butchered version of it, is the common language in America, but it is by no means the only language, obviously. Certain areas in Texas and California are mostly hispanic areas. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone speaking English there.

It's extremely common where I live (South Carolina). Just ask DM was on fire! -- she lived next to a house full of hispanics for about a month. I think she went ballistic, but...

Gwen, I will personally beat you up if you bring that up again.

Alas, she's unfortunetly right. I did live next to about 12 Mexicans (it started out a one -- then it became 5 -- then 10, and finally when we moved, there were about 12 there) for a month. They thought that every Friday was party night until 2 in the morning (two hours past the noise ordinance in downtown Greer), and me being homeschooled, I'd always have school, so all day, I was pretty sleepy.

Robot - But those are Spanish-founded states, you'd expect to find it there, but not in states like South Carolina (IE: Greer and Greenville).

Yes, and New England is an English founded area, but those states are perfectly alright with using fractured English. I don't see your point, honestly.
How does one family's living situation justify generalising an entire group of people?
