I really have 2 questions,
1 Are donuts and bagels the same thing?
and
2 Which is better?

I don't think they're the same because donuts are usually softer and have more sugar, sometimes icing or have cream or jelly filling, making them better.

They're different. They're made with two different kinds of dough; bagels are made with bread dough, and doughnuts are made with (I think) pastry dough.

I like doughnuts better because they're sweeter.

Oh, and I don't care what anyone else says, Lone Star Bakery doughnuts are the best in the world, better than Krispy Kreme (and that's saying a lot).

Depends on what you're in the mood for. I like doughnuts, but sometimes a raisin bagel with blueberry cream cheese really hits the spot.

Hmm... doughnuts are great. I don't care where they're from either, to me, any donut is a good doughnut (providing I care for the flavour or kind of donut).

Bagels are good too, but considering they're always at hand in the household and doughnuts aren't, I get tired of them sometimes.

Woohoo, I have problems with consistantly using the same spelling of doughnut/donut. :P

I think it depends on the mood you're in or what you have a craving for. I love donuts! But I can't have them right now, dieting stinks.

I do have a bagel just about every day for breakfast. I know, they have just about as many calories as a donut, but donut=average of 13 grams of fat; bagel=average of 2 grams of fat. And it stays with me most of the day, can't say that for a donut!

It depends on what you mean by "better". Donuts are better tasting, but bagels are better for your health.

Packs of five?
Crazy. Donuts here normally come in the form of six or a dozen (or two dozen.)

Tim Hortons is the reason Krispy Kremes has died in Alberta, i'm not sure if the KK's in Eastern Canada have survived either.

I've seen a few 5 packs of donuts, some 4 packs too, but they're usually the little dry crumbly ones that are either coated in hard chocolate or white powder.

Once there was a news report of anthrax but it was really donut powder.

Bagels kick donut's butt's, but only if they're toasted.

I love bagels! They're so yummy. I like doughnuts too, but they're not as good for you. And if there were to be a contest between Dunkin' Donuts and Krispy Kreme, I would totally go for DD (KK just isn't good in my opinion).
