I like Mozilla Firefox. It doesn't let pop-ups through the way that IE did for me. My dad's a big computer geek and always kept IE updated but the spyware just kept leaking through so we switched to Firefox. I'm happy using this browser. Tabs = love.

This is how I have FireFox setup, the window is obviously resized to make the image smaller but you get the idea.

Very organized, the top doesn't take up much space, everything is right there. It bugs me when people have the address bar on a different row from the menus. Why waste all that screen space?

Well, for people who have monitors set at 1024x768 or bigget (like me), it doesn't waste that much screen space. I have the address bar on a different row because I'm used to it like that on IE (even though I've been using FF for two years now).

Besides, FF is made so that you can customize it just the way you want it.

Speculation Central - Thinking about the future... Today!

Good topic! I swore I would never! get firefox when the whole banner ad thing started on Neopets. Then again, I swore I'd never get premium (but that's another story).

I am an older computer user and not really all that savvy on things. Therefore I have very few extensions. I just don't see the need for more "stuff", so I have pretty basic firefox.

I can say that ff takes a few seconds longer to load when opening it than ie does. On the other hand, pages on ff load much faster than on ie. I'm not getting anywhere near the amount of spyware, malware, etc. that I used to.

There are some things that ie is needed for with running windows - and that's all I use it for. I'm not even that hyped about ie7 with it's own tabbed browsing. Why? Because they went back on their original word that 7 would be, like ff and some other browsers, open source and stand alone. It's still "integrated" and still more vulnerable to problems.

FF is not perfect -- nothing is. But I have found that it serves my needs much more efficiently and safer than ie ever has. At least until some goofs decide to find ways to start with the bad spyware, etc. in ff.

Heh, my screen is only 800x600 on this computer so the address bar is a little small, but as for being crowded it's really not. If I want to open a new tab it's right next to the address bar, if I want to refresh it's right next to the back and forward buttons. I know I could use F5 or right-click and refresh that way but it seems faster and easier to just click the button.

For me, I don't really care what one I have. But just for the record, I have IE.

The only thing which has me "wowed" is if it can get me online, it's good in my books. I don't care about extra features as I'm probably never going to use them anyways.

Actually, the recent versions of Safari have removed the bugs and it is a reliable browser. It's better than Internet Explorer now.

As an update to my FasterFox use, I am definitely seeing a big increase in page load speed. It of course doesn't bring my lowly dial-up to DSL standards, but I am definitely noticing that pages load in about half the time it would usually take without the extension.

On that note I would definitely recommend FasterFox to anyone using FireFox. I would of course also recommend anyone not using FireFox to begin using FireFox, but that's another story.

I installed FasterFox for a couple of days, but it made my FF start up slower (slower than IE, actually) and the pages ended up taking a lot longer to load than usual. Got rid of it and everything is okay again. I guess sometimes it doesn't work so well with some computer/connections. Don't know. :\
