If we're talking specific fairy tales, I'd be the dwarf/old man who the elder brothers wouldn't take seriously... to their doom! I definitely wouldn't be the fox/wolf who can never seem to terminate his life-debt to that gormless idiot.

If we're just talking fantasy/mythology, then yeah, a phoenix.

yeah I don't think I'd like to be "trogdorrrrrrrrr!!!!!!" but...

it's kinda hard for me to decide which non-human thing I'd like to be - I wouldn't want to be a non-human shape. bah.

But those creatures are way cooler imho than the humanoids... I suppose if I had to change, I'd most prefer to be a centaur (centauress?), so as to have the best of both worlds. only they're not magical... not as much fun as a magic creature :)
