Do you DIY? Do you want to? I do, usually in the summer when I have time. I've made a purse, done a couple shirts, and I'm working on another purse and shirt.

"DIY" means "Do It Yourself"... so I'm guessing Smart Duck means home-made clothes.

I'm currently knitting myself a scarf, a black and purple stripey one. I haven't gotten past the first black stripe yet though! I've never made any other clothes, though I did start making a skirt once (ie. bought and cut out some fabric).

I think my mum traumatised me when I was younger by making me wear clothes that she made... I never felt very cool wearing them :(

As a guy and being of all thumbs, I cannot DIY my own clothing. My cousin can, and she is a mistress of the textile arts.

I write on tshirts. I tried making a skirt once, but the sewing machine broke. Oh! I sewed a bunch of stars on a pair of jeans once, that was pretty cool.

I really wish that I could, I think it'd be nice to have clothes that you made for yourself, that are unique and that nobody else has.

However, textiles is not my niche, and I think if I tried to make anything, it'd be the most gaudy piece of garbage ever. ;)

I could if I wanted to, but it's not really my thing.

Someday, I will scan my pants. I spent two whole periods and a sharpie covering them in song lyrics, kanji I found attractive, random phrases, and other such junk. When they ripped, I personally patched them with a piece of my old jeans, which have little rhinestone stars on them. The duck tape didn't stick very long.

I also make a lot of iron-on transfer shirts^^

If I ever finish this darned pillow I'm working on at school, I will sew some pajama pants.

And then maybe I'll make some other clothes or something.

Never with clothes. I don't really like the "home made" look for out in public. Even on other people it reminds me of the "look what I made mommy!" macaroni art that preschoolers make. Most of the time is just looks tacky and bleh, like those kids that have paper clips all over thier clothes and those old grannies that have jewls and hot glue paint designs on thier sweaters. Maybe the PPTer have a talent for making it look good but as a general rule I say no to home made/decorated clothes.

When done correctly, DIY clothes can look even better than designer clothes, I must say.

I do mean homemade, but not necessarily from scratch. I alter things usually when they need fixing--when they're too big, have a hole, or just look funny. I have a pair of jeans that had a hole in the rear, so I sewed a star of a stretchy black denim over the hole, another on the leg, and tuxedo type stripes down the legs in black ribbon. I think it's fun.

Nope. I probably could if I wanted to but I doubt I'll ever get the desire to do so. :P
