That's not fair. Just because you don't like Taylor's music (and trust me, I don't) doesn't mean you can call his fans idiots.

Tue May 23, 2006 9:46 pm

haha i get a msg tonight after the show on who so far would have the most votes

Tue May 23, 2006 11:45 pm

Yea it's not fair, but it also isn't fair to the people who like Katharine to get called tasteless morons, and idiotic banshee lovers. I'm just saying, but yea I won't say I ahven't insulted any Chris fans. So...

You were warned.

If you argue one more time, this thread will be locked.

You've been warned by an admin, and a mod. And now a second mod. I really don't want to see this thread locked, but if you guys can't stop your petty bickering, you're going to doom it and any other idol thread that comes on here.

Enough is enough.

Why can't you people just get along? You've all been members here for how long already? If you've been insulted, or upset, PM a moderator, and don't resort to petty bickering on the thread. Next person who does so, is getting striked.

Sorry. These things get incredibly heated, if I've upset anyone I am deeply sorry! It won't happen again. I swear.

Okay, Finale night! Who's ready?!?!

Round One

Katharine - Black Horse and the Cherry Tree - She did good, I was hoping for a new song this week but okay. I actualyl like this song alot! Love KT. And Kat did it amazingly better than last time! :D
Audio - 8, Visual - 8

Taylor - Living for the City - Where do I start? Well he sang this song good, but just reinforces some people's point, including mine, that his CD wouldn't be as succesful as would his concerts, because he's just an artist that you ahve to watch instead of listen to. Over all good. And what's with that jacket? What was that? Who gave him that? Who ever did should be... Executed.
Audio - 7.5, Visual - 8

Round Two

Katharine - Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Wow. That's it. She did it a billion times better this time!
Audio - 10000000, Visual - 10

Taylor - Leave On - Did his voice crack? He sang it well. It sounded like something I would here in a Pub with a live band. It was ok.
Audio - 8, Visual - 8

Round Three/Final Round

Katharine - My Destiny - This song was on the verge of being wierd... She sang the blue off her smurf though! She sang amazing!!! She gave me chills. Loved the choir!
Audio - 10, Visual - 10

[u]Taylor - Do I Make You Proud?[/b] - Both songs were equally boring. I think Katharine's was a little better though. They always give the finalists these really cheesy ballads. Well except for Kelly, I actually liked A Moment Like This. If Taylor wins, I will die. Not because I don't like him, it's just because he will flop bigger than Ruben.
Audio - 9, Visual - 8

If the Hockey game (GO OILERS GO!) isn't over by then, i'm not watching it. I can just come here and read about it, non-heated arguments and all.

(Get the hint? It was subtle!)

Hm. Tough call for me. Katharine's second performance was... to be completely honest, the best performance I have heard the entire season. And yes, that means it trumps Chris's performances. But her first and third songs were not great. At all. To be fair, though, the third song was a horrible song and I'm sorry she had to sing it.

Taylor. Hm. I didn't really like his first or second performances, but they were okay. I didn't understand the hype over his first performance, and his second performance bored me. But number three definitely caught my attention. It was still a horrible song, but he did it justice and I liked it.

I think they both even out for me. I really hated Katharine's first and third performances, but her second was amazing. Taylor's first and second performances were okay, and his third was good. So it all really evens out. Who do I think is the better singer? Katharine. But based on tonight, it's a tough call.

*sigh*

Dear American Idol songwriters,

You just lost Katharine the competition.

Thanks,

Mark

I really think after tonight that Taylor is going to win. I love this for my own personal reasons (yay for screwing American Idol). I wanted Chris to win, but he's actually gotten something bettere I think by getting voted off. I guess Taylor is the next best thing for me.

Hmm... I want Katherine to win, but to be honest, Taylor pretty much owned the show. He started the show well (well, better than Katherine did, but it was purely by song choice), and he ended the show well. It's unfortunate that Katherine's best song had to be in the middle, but I guess that's just the way it panned out.

To be honest, though, I was less than amazed by the performances today, considering it was the finals (though Taylor's final song got my attention). Maybe it's hearing the songs done over again, I don't know, but the only songs that really struck me as "finals material" were the singles. The rest, is better left to the word "meh".

It has nothing to do with the songs. She brought it on herself.

No, I think that if Katharine's final song would've been as good as Taylor's, she would've won. I think that Taylor's first two performances were pretty lacklustre, and I thought that Katharine's first was, too. However, had she had two great songs, she would've won.

Taylor won 2:1.

Too bad though, if he had just switched his first with his second, Katherine would have won 2:1.

The first round, Katherine's song was actually pretty good. But I thought Taylor laid the smackdown on her that round.

In the second round however, Katherine delivered a knock-out uppercut to Taylor's worst preformance, and won the second round by a mile.

The third round, it was really too bad that Katherine had to sing that song. I thought she sang one note really badly, but I think that was just me? But Taylor beat her song third round.

I haven't watched it yet, but something was wrong with our Fox station when it was on. The sound was *really* crappy and crunchy and it hurt my ears, so I had to stop watching. We have it taped, so I'm going to try and watch it today in intervals before the next comes on tonight.

Jas, dear, I sent you an IM. :P You can hear the audio there if Fox messed your audio up.

EDIT: And, ooh, here's a fun thing to do while waiting for the finale!

If you were on American Idol, which songs would you have chosen for each of the theme weeks? (And let's just pretend you can sing everything really well, because I have a crap voice. :P)

Week 1 (or, really, 4): Stevie Wonder
Week 2: Songs from the 1950s
Week 3: Songs from the 21st Century
Week 4: Country
Week 5: Queen
Week 6: Songs from the Great American Songbook
Week 7: Great Love Songs
Week 8 (1): A Song from the Year of Your Birth
Week 8 (2): A Song from the Top 10 of a Billboard Chart
Week 9 (1, 2): Elvis Presley

This is what I would do:

1: Quite possibly my favourite song from this period in music: Superstition
2: Fever. If only because it's worked for pretty much everyone who has sung it. :P
3: Shakira's Poem to a Horse
4: Ugh, I hate all country. But I could stand singing Faith Hill, probably Bringing Out Elvis or Breathe.
5: I'd be really tempted to sing Bicycle Race, but I'd probably sing Fat-Bottomed Girls or The Show Must Go On (this song is GREAT).
6: Ooh, I'd do Come Rain or Come Shine. There's this place my family goes sometimes to try to be normal. They have a different singer each day and for some reason he/she chooses to sing this every time we go there. I fell in love with it. :o
7: Unchained Melody... it's really a good song when not sung by Kellie Pickler. :P
8 (1): My birth year is 1990. I'd be SO SO tempted to shave my head and sing Sinead O'Connor's rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U. :P But I'd probably do Vision of Love by Mariah Carey.
8 (2): Mary J. Blige's Be Without You (currently #8 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs list)
9 (1): Jailhouse Rock
9 (2): Little Less Conversation
