Neither of the original songs were good, but Taylor's was slightly better.

First performance:

Taylor's was definitely best

Second:

Katharine (Taylor's was great too, but Kat's was better)

Third:

Taylor (I didn't like either of the songs, Kat's seemed more wimpy and plain, and Taylor's was slightly better. I think he could sing her song better than her though).

And the winner is...

Taylor (That's what Dialidol and other sites are saying. I voted 50 times for him...so here's hoping.)

I still think Kat will get a recording contract. All the other runners-up got them, although some had better careers than others. (Clay's was much better than Justin's or Diana's for example) I do think she has a good voice, but she is quite mediocre compared to other past runners-up and finalists.

Oh, did anyone notice that all of the winners of Idol are from the South? Even the runners-up are. (Justin was from Pennyslvania though and Kat is from Cali, but she's not going to win anyways ;))

Kat was very inconsistant in this competition. (I'm sorry to say). Elliot was probably the most consistant person.

Yes, but when Katharine was good, she was great. Taylor has so many lacklustre performances. ._. And Katharine, while she may have had bad ones, had brilliant ones, also.

I don't care how many people will hate me after this comment, but I really don't care.

I DISLIKE KATHARINE MCPHEE

She did alright last night, but her final song sent me over the edge. I'm a singer, so I can tell when people hit bad notes and when they don't. If memory serves me right, Katharine hit FIVE sour notes and her voice cracked near the end. Right now, I'm trying to find a video of it, but all I can find is videos of The Black Horse and a Cherry Tree and Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

So, yes, I am a Taylor fan. :P I really hope he wins, but I know he isn't gonna just because of who Kat is.

end rant

Yeah, I have perfect pitch but my TV is sooo old that it's hard to tell with the speakers. We got it after my sister was born...so it's about 16-17 years old. Also, I heard it sounds different hearing it live and hearing it on TV with all the instruments and acoustics and stuff. With Kat's last performance, it was sooo off. Maybe it was because of the song - you notice she had to sing it an octave lower?

I don't dislike Kat. I just think there are a million artists like her in the recording industry. There are many girls who have great voices and who are good artists, or would be good potential artists. I mean, she would make a good pop star, but there are so many other pop stars with the same style. No matter how great her voice is, it's just not unique enough. I could imagine see her as an actress though, maybe in musicals or on Broadway like Diana.

Her style is like Kelly Clarkson, but Kelly is better. I watched the first season of American Idol and although I don't remember all the top contestants, I do remember that Kelly was consistently good, never in the bottom, and always got great reviews from the judges. I liked her from the start and I remember the voting lines were always busy for her. Then again, it was pretty obvious she would win from the start. Justin and Tamyra were good too but Kelly simply outshined them.

Taylor... I don't know, I can't imagine him being the biggest success of all the contestants. I don't think he'd be the kind of artist you'd see on TRL on MTV, nor do I think he'd be the kind who'd sell out stadiums. However, he is confident in who he is. He knows his style, he's not embarassed to show off his moves, and he seems 100% real. I just hope his album shows who he is, not who the record producers want him to be. Sure, it may not be as marketable, but his fans will stick by him.

I think the real success of this season is Chris. I've finally accepted the fact that he's not going to win it. He got offers for bands less than a day after he was booted off though! Even if the thing about the wrong phone numbers is true, we can't do anything about it now. I think I voted but gave up because I never got through. Fans were probably too overconfident and didn't vote as much as they should have. That was probably how it was with Tamyra season 1 and LaToya season 3. They probably thought he would win anyways, so why vote? (OTC: Ellen Degeneres asked the two past presidents if they could do anything about Chris being voted off, like if they had the power to undo it XD.)

I'm kind of glad that he's not winning because the 19 Entertainment contract would really hold him down. They don't have much control over the first album, but then again, most new artists don't. I'd imagine if he got a contract with 19 Entertainment, they'd MAKE him do pop ballads. He couldn't really argue about it, because they could just as easily drop him. (They dropped Justin and Diana for selling under 200k copies) Another thing - if the runners-up or other contestants who didn't win got a contract from 19, there is some rule that they can't release their album until at least a year after the winner's album is released. This may be a rumor actually, but it makes sense. Clay Aiken managed to dodge this though with lawyers who helped him find loopholes and eventually get out of the contract. However, his first album was managed by 19 and it came out just 4 months after the finale, meaning it was probably mostly completed before the finale. It really depends on the person's style.

Another random comment - Daniel Powter's performance was a good way to end the show. Did you notice Simon left by then? Lol.

YAY...I can't wait until tonight! I heard rumors on the internets that Clay would perform with Carrie, but I've heard the claims being denied too.

Thread need to be split, much?

Really...

Wicked. :o I heard that Kelly would be performing with Rascal Flatts (I think she'd be performing What Hurts the Most with them), but I didn't know about the Carrie/Clay duo. Sounds awesome. I won't be able to stay up when they announce it though. I watched House last night. Enough staying up for one week. :roflol:

Kelly Clarkson? It's been confirmed that she will NOT be at the finale :(. She sang with Rascal Flatts at the ACMA's last night if that's what you mean.

(Lol...Dr. Phil was asking Kelly the questions on ET) Kelly and Rascal Flatts both picked Taylor to win. :D

BTW Taylor hit a really bad note near the end of his song.

DM, go to http://www.rickey.org to download the audios of the songs.

Ugh, we all know Taylor's going to win, he simply has a huge lead over Katherine (I doubt the numbers are wrong). I almost want to watch the season finale of Lost instead, since there's absolutely no question in my mind on who's going to win.

Yes, Taylor hit multiple bad notes as well. In fact, in his second song... *cringes* ...he hit quite a few (though he does often anyway, it seems.) His final song was pretty good though, and he didn't over do it like he usually does.

DM - Katherine's not going to win. If she somehow does win, everyone will know it's a sham (everyone knows [or should know] that Taylor did slightly better [well in my opinion, much better) last night. He started strong, and ended strong, which pretty much sealed the deal). To me, it would be too obvious of sham if Katherine won. In fact, if she does win, I'll help you storm the FOX headquarters, Ryan Seacrest's house, or whatever may be a good place to unleash the fury (while I still prefer Katherine, I can say that Taylor deserves the top spot more, based alone on last night's performances.) Heck I'll even join the Taylor Fanclub. *dyes hair grey to look like Taylor* WOO!

I'm sorry for anything I ever said about you, Kuge. LETS DO IT, YO.

I still think she'll win. If Taylor wins, I will be extremely happy, though.

EDIT - God, I love Diva Dish.

All 12 contestants from this season will return to give a sneak peak at their upcoming “Idol” tour. Chris Daughtry will perform live with Live, while Elliott Yamin will perform with Mary J. Blige. Former “Idol” contestant Clay Aiken is rumored to be on the bill to perform, plus Carrie Underwood will be there to sing and pass on her crown to the new reigning “Idol”. And finally… no “Idol” results show this season would be complete with a rendition of Daniel Powter’s hit “Bad Day”. He’ll perform it live, most likely after the winner is named and the runner-up has their “go away, you lost” video montage played on the big screen.

They had Daniel Powter last night so I doubt they'll have him again tonight.

Cuz you had a bad day...

I already heard that news, but I didn't hear about Elliot with Mary J. Blige. That doesn't sound true simply because it seems like such a weird pairing. I'm excited about Chris performing though :).

Iunno, Natalie's pretty trustworthy, but then again, you never know. Sge works in the same place as Dino -- the guy who...milks cows. o_o;;

You know I just said I'd join the Soul Patrol because I'm so sure that Katherine will lose. xD But still, I'll stick to my word, and I will (seriously) dye my hair gray (or silver, or whatever) and take pictures, if Katherine somehow wins. xD (oh, and help you storm all of those places, except Paula's domain, I won't go near there)

WOO! Hope I don't have to eat my words. =P

P.S. - OMG, have you been talking behind my back again!? Tsk tsk. :o
