He still missed that note.

Can there be a recount? Any hanging Chads?

I'm dissapointed, but it was clear.

And I can't see him as an "Idol". I just can't.

Ten bucks says Katharine has the better non-idol record.

Why does everyone think he's going to fail? Considering this was the most popular season yet, I don't. He can make the songs unique and bring something new to them, even if they do make him do cheesy pop ballads.

I just want him to fail, because I'm bitter. That's my reason. And because he's more of a visual artist. Like it'd be wierd to hear him on the radio. Becasue I wouldn't have the spazzing dude to look at instead of focusing on the wierd vocals and runs.

WOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!

GOOOO TAYLOR!!!!

I've gotta say that that was the best Finale ever!!!
When Prince came out.. my jaw dropped.. that was awesome.
And then Clay and his new hairdo.. ROFL..

There were bad parts... but overall.. it was very entertaining.

I guess we couldn't have asked for a better finale. I liked all of it, except for well one obvious part. But yea. I loved Carrie's performance, and Katharine and Meatloaf, were awesome!

Finale was great, surprises galore (and also very funny. :P). It was a pretty good ending (and Clay actually looks better with that hair now, and from what I've heard of him, he sounds a whole lot better too). For the most part, though, the AI contestants seemed to outsing the Idols a bit more than I would have though (except for Mary/Elliot). It was a fun night. :P

Because he's not that great of a singer, and he's an awesome performer. He belongs on stage, not on a CD. Even his single didn't sound very exciting (once again, without watching the screen). People mostly voted for him because had the best stage presence and was exciting to watch, but when you take the stage away and just throw on the vocal, he's not really that spectacular (and I doubt many, outside the world of people that watch AI, would buy his album). Depending on if his album follows the same style as his single or not, his album would hardly appeal to the younger generation (21 and below, which make up a huge part of album sales).

I don't think he's necessarily going to flop (AI supporters will at least keep him going for a while), but I do think he'll fade fast, or at least slip into obscurity after a short while. I'll generiously give him 1.5-2 years... unless he ends up doing a lot of shows, which is his thing.

Yay for Taylor!! :) I can't wait to hear what his album sounds like. :)

That was a great finale. I thought Chris sounded excellent with Live. I loved seeing everyone again. All those pyrotechnics got me a bit nervous. I was hoping there wasn't going to be a Michael Jackson moment. lol

Some of my favorite moments were when that guy was singing and then Clay Aiken came out behind him. He was *so* happy. lol (By the way, I wanted to cut Clay's bangs just a teeny bit very badly. :) He did look way better (in my opinion) than he used to, though.) The Brokenote Cowboys were awesome, too. :)

Stupid Clay Aiken kid. They should NOT be supporting these people. It's a freaking singing competition!!!

Anyway, I'm disappointed, but I knew that Taylor would win anyway.

._.

I really, really doubt that Taylor will have a hit album. Katharine would outsell him. I mean, look at all the songs that Taylor has sung. Has he attempted anything comtemporary? No. It'll be like the red-headed crooner from last year (John Stevens or something).

However, I think Katharine's performance of Black Horse and the Cherry Tree was a slap in the face for America--she was saying, "Hey, I can do something that people will listen to today; Taylor can't!"

I'm so with you on that! And she sounded a billion times better than the first time! I really think she'll outsell him.

Wow, that was SO shocking. ;)

Anywho.... yeah... I liked the old Clay Aiken. :(

Although, in the song where all of the top 12 sang a collab of songs. Two people surprised me.

1. Lisa
2. Ace

I mean, in a good way. >_>;

Thu May 25, 2006 5:09 am

I'm going to have nightmares shrouded with visions of the Clay Aiken clone, I know I will, and it scares me.

Yeah, for the most part, everyone was good tonight. I was actually surprised by Bucky, who didn't shriek or rasp at all when he was singing that one song (the song itself escapes me now). He did screw up, but I'm still surprised.

Thu May 25, 2006 9:13 am

Bucky surprised me, too. He didn't try to sing the song "country" and just sang it regular. He sounded really good. :)

Tim and I agreed that Clay looked like one of the Beatles. lol

It was kinda wierd when Elliot sang with Mary J. Blige. He sang like, the opening and introduced her, and then she took the song from there and Elliot is just off to the side watching. O_o;

He joined in also at the end... but it just seems like Mary J. Blige took over the song.

To all of you people arguing over who will outsell who, I just thought you should know that Katharine and Taylor are not the people to worry about.

Because Chris is gonna outsell them all. ;)
