Yes, it's the one thing I actually can do.

I do it all the time, too.

And if it's done right, it doesn't look patchy or crafty or anything. It looks nice, I've actually had people ask me where they could get my shirt when I'd made it. You just have to practice and learn what you're doing.

Totally. I crochet in the winter (it's too hot to have a bunch of yarn in your lap in the summer), I do lots of fabric painting (mostly putting strange phrases on tshirts), and I sew occasionally. Most of the sewing I do now is repair (buttons and such), but I've made everything from a silk evening gown to pajama pants to a baby's christening dress. Anymore, it's less expensive to buy clothes than to sew them yourself because fabric costs so much. But because mass-produced clothes use cruddy stitching, the few things I do bother sewing typically last much longer than anything I buy.

Me in a dress - that's a once in a lifetime opportunity

I make myself a couple of t-shirts using those print-and-iron thingers, but aside from that, I'm far too lazy.

Nope. After doing a crappy two year GCSE Textiles course (I ended up getting a D in it believe it or not. That's good for me) I'm not sure I'd like to. I attempted to make a sarong in the course but failed miserably. I hadn't even sewn it together. It was just a mass of thin purple fabric XD And I still can't believe I got a D. I was so pathetic at it, I thought I'd get U. At best an F.

Hmm, if I could then I would - I'm slightly ashamed to say that I can't even sew properly  Well, I can't even thread the needle let alone sew something together!

I CAN make clothes...I need to take a picture of the finished corset I made....but I can't be bothered and don't have a huge inclination to.

I never have, but I'd sort of like to. I got some fabric to make harem pants once, but then had nowhere to do it(my house is a complete mess), and by the time a managed to make a little space in my room(for the record, didn't actually clean it, just shoved everything closer to the walls), I'd forgotten where I'd put the fabric. I'll probably make them if I find the fabric again, but no telling when that'll be. Harem pants are awesome, but pretty expensive.

I can't sew so it would end up a complete disaster. No. Never.

There was this coffee table book I nearly got at the bookstore the other day... it was like 100 ideas for updating your t-shirt...

Basically they'd cut up and sew the t-shirt into different types of shirts. It was pretty ingenious actually.

Personally, I knit and crochet on a basic level. I also bead when I get the chance.

Man... I would LOVE to be able to make my own things.. So far, I can only sketch designs but I cannot make them into actual clothes or anything..

But I can sew a little ;) Fix the small rips and stuff.. but that's about it :(

I think the key there is to learn how to use a sewing machine rather than hand-stitching. The only thing I hand-stitch is like cross-stitch/embroidery. And it's been a very long time since I've done that!

Heck, the last time I used a sewing machine was back in sixth grade 4H.... :o

I make earrings, which I havent done in ages cause I'm too skint to buy more templates and stuff. I've made pillows for my bed, but other then that, I only fix like minor holes and stuff in my clothes.
