7K now?! Yeesh. They were still around 6k during the LDP (I think; it's been awhile). I don't even want to know how much they'll be worth when the next war actually breaks out.

Tis simple really. For any given new *event* whether it be plot or war or just simply an event, someone can easily yell out that they "know" it'll involve war. The fake news picks up and spreads. Followed by the increase in demand for them codestones for training... and hoarding by those who wants to make a profit... and boom! Skyrocketing.

Joy.

holy guacamole. Thats a lot.

Then again, Eo's have always cost roughly 20% more than other codestones, Just like Lus were generally 20% lower..... but i bet somebody would make a lot of money by spendnig 1 mil on codestones and keeping them untouched for 3 years. Probably could sell them for 3 mil afterward.

I wonder if TNT will ever do anything about inflation.... to make it easier to get np or something.... who knows. We'll have to see. I love the fact that theres a growing economy on neopets though... very interesting.

They claim that Neopoints are already too easy to get so I doubt they'll do anything about making stuff cheaper anytime soon.

And in the editorial telling about the plot in June, they claimed that the next plot will not involve the battledome 'to bring down codestone prices.' So unless we go a couple of years without a war, like it was before the first Meridell plot, it'll be a while before the prices go down. If they ever are going down. Personally, I've almost never bought codestones and try to stick with those that I've found lying around. Then again, I'm not a big trainer, so...

Someone (or a group) has most likely been hoarding the eo (and main) codestones. If you want to help the price drop, do NOT buy from any of those shops selling 50 or 100 of a codestone. Pay a couple NP more (sometimes literally just 1 or 2 NP more) and buy from someone who's only selling a couple codestones. Those hoarders/mass sellers compete with each other, so if their stock's not moving, they will lower prices.

Also, the volcano, which creates red codestones, asks for more eo than anything else. Couple that with the fact that eo is already relatively rare compared to tai-kai and bri and some of the others, and it's already going to cost more. Usually it's around 6.3k, though. 7+ is really pushing it. Hopefully it will drop again soon... it hit 7.5 a few weeks ago but had dropped to 6.5k again within a week. Prices fluctuate a lot. Once the really slow people realize the Altador Cup has no battling, prices should stabilize again. I hope.

Eos used to be regular... It's the mains that always cost 20% more, or more. Now Main is lik 33% more and Eo is 50% more... assuming "regular" is 4.5k.

Lu made it to regular a year ago, but it took two (or was it three?) years for it to recover from being on the advent calendar.

Bri is the new cheapy, thanks to being given by the Wheel of Monotony.

Well I though Har and Vo normally ran around 3.5k, and I went the other day to sell a har for a vo and they were up to about 4,400k.

Edit: even bri are up 3,300! :o

I don't know if you guys remember, but before the pirate academy opened, codestones ran from 6,000 - 9,000 NP. Ouch.

:(

I remember when I first started Neopets and food from the food shop was mostly 20np each. And I thought saving up enough to buy a petpet would never happen!

Thank goodness there are more ways to get food now that are free. But it's frustrating that neopoints continue to be worth less and less. Back when I started 100,000np was enough to buy a faerie paint brush, and it was a LOT of Neopoints. Maybe that's just because I was poor?

With all this talk of Codestone prices I was wondering, is it cheaper to Codestone train or Dubloon train?

Duke of Earl is correct. Main was the most expensive, and Lu was the cheapest, with all others being approximately the same price. The low Lu Codestone price was brought about by the Advent Calendar several years back, which gave out Lu Codestones on one of the days.
