Anyone else notice that when you are in your inventory there is a new link for a transfer log

Clicking the link gives

ERROR : Beta testing. Away with ye!
http://www.neopets.com/items/transfer_list.phtml

This mean they are going to start tracking when stuff is transfered from one account to another???

It was active for a while earlier today. On my main account, it showed three pages of items I had sent to my side accounts, while on my side accounts it did actually show items I received.

that will put a dent in hackers who steal our beloved accounts

I think it safe to hazard a guess, considering the number of people who have been frozen or warned for receiving duplicated or stolen items, that they've always been able track them in some form. They're just giving us the now option too. Unless you're sending or receiving one of the above, I don't see why this is upsetting.

It just seems intrusive is all.

It does seem intrusive and my intuitive reaction is negative too, but I can't honestly think of any reason why someone who plays by the rules would mind.

And if you wanted to send things to your side account a bit more annon you could always set up a trade. (unless it tracks that as well?)

It just seems like a set up really.

I use my sides as extra insurance. Its where I keep my high valued items in case i ever get frozen, knock on wood.

The intrusion would be that if I would get frozen, knock on wood, my entire back up plan would go to poo.

They've been able to see what you've been sending to who long before this. They're now just letting us see it too.

I think why alot of people feel negitive about this, is the "a few bad eggs ruin it for everyone" rule.

Because -some- people break the rules, even the honest players need to be watched and monitored, just in case. Neopets has had to institute a "no one can be trusted" type atmostphere with this, which will always effect people negitivly.

Personally I think it's nifty, I like seeing where all my items are going and coming from. I'm saving up all my expensive items in my SDB and sometimes I'll go in there and think "where'd that come from?" now I'll know!

Besides, this is an excellent way to monitor people's side accounts. If they've got an influx of items coming in from side accounts, they have to be earning neopoints on those accounts, thus playing games, thus breaking the rules. This is a good way of detering people from doing it, as now they know everything's being logged!

I'm also not seeing the link.

Neopets have been able to track where items are going and coming from for ages, it's not 'intrusive', they are just letting us use this service aswell, so we can keep track of things.
