TO A MENTAL INSTITUTION.

Okay, I just wanted to make a comment. The "I'm Leaving...." and then, "on vacation" threads are really getting old and repetitive.

Please, stop the madness.

Maybe it's just me, but it's driving me crazy.

Sorry if this post is not allowed. :P

On vacation threads I can understand.

But I'm also getting slightly sick of all these "I'm Leaving" threads, where the poster doesn't actually leave =/ IMO, if people actually *do* leave, the significance is going to be lessened, because people'll just think that it's a joke and they won't bother caring anymore.

The 'I'm Leaving...' joke has been done to death, stupidly reincarnated, and then been done to death once more. Let the poor thing have a rest.

Gone, forever.

I agree but I can't quit really justify why it need's to be banned or what ever just that it does...

It IS banned. http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12315

Vacation/Holiday threads don't fall under the ban, however.

That's in reference to a different kind of 'I'm leaving' topic though surely.

Banning people to make vacation topics is well stupid, and an overkill in moderation.

Well, I don't think making vacation topics should be stopped, I just think the titles shouldn't be so deceiving. Plus, this fad is also annoying me.

I didn't think it was the moderator's job to stop fads.

The basic principle of those topics is what's annoying. You see "I'm leaving", you read it as "I'm leaving [the forums]", you click to hear the story, and then you get punched in the face with a "Haha, fooled you" post. Isn't it a common sense rule to respect people browsing the forums and don't post under decieving topic titles, no matter how elaborate the deception?

It is the moderators' job to make sure that the forums are an enjoyable experience for everyone, though.

I'm also a lot less likely to view topics of people that ARE leaving for good.

And I agree with Hunter. :P

people should, I think, always use titles for threads which get the point across, like "HTML Confusion! help! </panic>" for one asking for HTML help.
on that note, you should probably change the title of this one to I'm "leaving"...
just to make it clearer.
