I seriously LOVED Tamora Pierce a while back. (There's no BI~G libraries filled with English books here  )
Terry Prattchet is all I read since it's all I'm sent. (I love them though)
Some books in the Redwall series
Oh and the Artemis Fowl series even though I didn't like the ending very much.(there's only three right)
I'll stop now since my list'll go on forever.....

There are four Artemis Fowl books so far, I believe.

I'd recommend all of Dan Brown's books. :P

I also recommend all of Gregory Maguire's books (but they're for more older teen/adults).

XD I love you, too, Igg.

I probably only like Dan Brown because I'm so against my church when they were talking every sermon about how Dan Brown was the devil and all. :P

OOH. I got another book. One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies. I loved it. It's a VERY quick read.

Oh, and if you're feeling adventurous, read some Dickens. (However, don't read Great Expectations, because it's crap. :P)

If you want to read something cute and kind of short, I'd recommend Skipping Christmas by John Grisham.

I'd also recommend almost anything by Nicholas Sparks, specifically The Guardian or Nights in Rodanthe.

There are also six books written by Margaret Peterson Haddix called the Shadow Child series. It starts with a book called Among the Hidden. (All of them begin with the word among). I'd actually recommend anything written by Margaret Peterson Haddix.

Michael Crichton is one of my absolutely favorite authors. I'd especially recommend Jurassic Park and The Lost World, which were both very good.

Finally, James Paterson's Alex Cross series is really good to read if you're up to anything suspenseful.

Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom are amazing, as long as you want to cry. ;)

Seconded on the Tamora Pierce. Also a couple series(serieses?) I like are the Acorna books and the Claidi Journals series(wolf tower, wolf star, wolf queen, wolf wing). And Douglas Adams is awesome.

Speaking of Tamora Pierce, Terrier comes out on Oct 24(for US and Australia). I can't wait.

"Number the Stars" by Anne Frank; it's a short book about Denmark when the Nazi's had invaded. Amazing story, I loved it.

Stephen Baxter.
Especially his Manifold series (Space, Time, Origin and Phase space, Reading order is unimportant) And the book "Moonseed"

Deals with a lot of indepth physics, but you dont need to know any of it to get a cracking good read from these books. :)

My personal favourite author, so take that as you will.

I always recommend Stephen King, if one likes horror. Although my favorite book of his, Different Seasons, is very good and not horror. The stories that the movies Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me are based on are in that book.

And I recommend Jeffery Deaver's books for a good thriller (like the Bone Collector). He's got more of an edge than James Patterson.

And I'll quit before I get too into this and list every book I own. :)
