I have now realized that though it's more on the side of the fence that read "FREAKING CHEAP AS HECK" than it is on the side that reads "Difficult as Heck", I can honestly say that Playing Story mode on Timesplitters 2 is probably the hardest thing to hit this generations of systems. (but I did say it was only difficult because it's unimaginably cheap, which just means that hard mode is absolutely terrible on that game.)

And difficult games on the DS? I'd like to know of one, seriously.

Difficult game?
Conflict Freespace 2.
one man.
three buddies.
about a trillion enemy ships that are actually just as hard (if not harder) than you, plus their big cousin, the Sathanas class super juggernaut.
skill; and skill alone won you that game.
no wonder it sold so badly ¬_¬

Im going to agree with you there, very difficult game, but so very good, too bad they never made a third one, though I hear they sold the rights to it.

My mate found it hard too, but in terms of actually playing the game, I found it pretty simple. I'm trying to get 100% completion, and THAT I'll have to agree, is hard - never enough airfoil rounds! :P

I'm both shocked and stunned that Toejam and Earl was mentioned - I found it quite easy. The sequal was harder, but still do-able (and both were done, by the great I).

I remember a Simpsons game for Genesis, that was hard (mentioned much earlier), and Lemmings is hard at times too (though, mostly frustrating). And Super Fantasy Zone on Hard (and Hard only), though I'll probably complete it one day, it feels a huge stepping stone up.

Oh, I'm rubbish at racing games. And football games. Probably because I hold little interest... and I dug out a Genesis Pacman game, Pac-Mania... that was pretty hard, because of the jumping ghosts.

:( Awww.

Was that sarcasm, or do you really mean that? x_x

Which Simpsons game are you talking about Pixa? (Radioactive Man, Virtual Reality, or the Alien one? [which was terrible btw, but the Virtual Reality was great])

I found Probotector on the NES to really hard, there was just so much shooting at you.
Its also the first game I ever used cheats on, unless you include Super Mario Bros 3, on the final world, using the P-Wing to just fly over the levels with Tanks / Boats so nothing could ever hit you

I strongly have a mental image of some one eyed aleins in my head, I'd go with the alien one.

Resident Evil 4. It has reduced me to tears several times.

Kingdom Hearts and the 2nd one can get pretty hard at times.

*notices that this topic is almost a year old... :P*
Anyway, to add to my post from October, I failed to mention Megaman & Bass for the GBA. Mainly the last level.
When you finally beat King, and then you beat his second form (oh dear God), you have to fight the 8 robot masters again... oh goddd...
THEN... when you get the inevitable Game Over... YOU START FROM BEHIND KING, AND BEHIND ALL THE BOSSES YOU GOTTA BEAT TO GET TO HIM.
*unleashes a string of vulgarities at that game*
I've never been able to beat it.

See beatmania IIDX. XD

That's the only game I could think of at the moment that's actually hard. :/
