- In October of 1977, three days after the release of their sixth CD, a charter plane coming from Greenville, South Carolina (heading to Baton Rouge), crashed in McComb, Mississippi, killing Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, Dean KIlpatrick (their road manager), and the pilot and co-pilot.
- Ronnie's brother, Johnny Van Zant now sings lead vocals, and also has a group called Van Zant, with his older brother Donnie.

- Any band/artist is able to compete (Ranging from as old as Queen to as new as Taylor Hicks). The only thing is that they most have songs with English lyrics. No foreign music, unless they have broken the language barrier or are widely known by people. (Examples, Utada Hikaru and Ayumi Hamasaki)
- You may suggest artists/bands to compete.
- Every Wednesday the votes will be tallied and a new round will be posted.
