He usually does mess with people, don't get too excited yet.

Of course they are all food items. We are investigating Chef Bonju, aren't we?

Speaking of clues from those in the know, Is anyone else keeping an eye on the new neocam? I am, but I haven't seen anything that could be a clue yet.

Thu Aug 10, 2006 7:31 pm

Ughh I hope they don't do any more clues/fake clues with the Neocam! It drove me nuts, as they were false or really obscure clues half the time...

Thu Aug 10, 2006 7:55 pm

Who and where is this Ollie you are speaking of?

I dont really keep up on staff memebers or there accounts so I'd apprciate a lil fill in thanks :)

I personally choose to ignore any Ollie/neocam clues.

The only time I can remember this working was the very tenuous pigy bank clue for the collector on the Altador plot but only because nobody got it for days after it had been released.

We're not even in full plot swing yet, I doubt the hints would be coming out this early.

That's what I was alluding to, ei. Thanks for taking the words out of my mouth, and saying it better than I could :)

Aw thanks, looks like the same things thoroughly wind us up ;)

I couldn't stand it on the boards: the hysteria over TCGs of kreludor, pieces of paper with dots on them, dolls with no heads.

Did any of them have anything to do with the plot? Of course not.

OK, I'm almost done ranting on this subject. Honest.

Dolls with no heads had a point. The Meepit doll's head fell off to reveal the clue.

Ollie is a tnt staff member who chats with people on the neoboards every thursday or so I heard, his neo account is obrodhage, hope that helps :)

Well this may be a long shot, and Ollie's comments probably are just for taunting us until TNT decides to settle our curiosity about the nothing-to-do-but-read-comic plot thus far, however I was also reminded of the headless meepit and money going into a piggy bank for parts of the Altador plot. So, if they are clues, I almost suspect they are hinting toward our need to figure the Chef Bonju avatar to possibly advance in the plot?

Judging from that, my creative mind can only come up with a few ideas. I was thinking that since he mentioned "I like jolly jugglers" and "I like bouncy supreme" and a lot of *burp*, *meep*, *lurk* etc. it could mean that we need a Jelly food (Bouncy Supreme is in Jelly World but I think the first two games mentioned might hint at that?) and possibly some Juice (Meepit Juice Break maybe?), and that earlier he had a picture of a Blumaroo Ice Cream Sundae on his lookup (Blumaroo as a nudge toward the Chef, and Ice Cream as an item to throw in the pot?). Just some ideas to throw out there, since no one had any luck with the avi yet.

For the record, I tried a Jelly Green Cheese (and later a plain Glowing Jelly) along with a Mummified Ice Cream (I am a cheapskate and figured I could use later for Esophagor quest, lol) with a berry from Meri Acres, but no Juice yet. I hardly doubt we would have to purchase anything that expensive, if at all, to get the avatar, to clarify and not to mislead people.

That's tenuous at best. And it did't help find the clue. I believe the very obvious red lenny did that for us. So while it may (not that I think it did, the doll didn't even look particularly headless to me) have related to the clue it didn't help find it in any way and thus, for the purposes of this discussion, was pointless.

Anjuna, based on your info, I tried various combinations of the following items (none of which worked); half lime jelly, hand painted water jug, and meepit vs feepit action figures. lol, perhaps I'll break the bank and keep trying.

With the culinary concoctions theory, i dont think its just anything jelly. If ollie said jolly jugglers and bouncy supreme, the latter would give away jelly. But maybe the jolly juglers may be part of that as well as to say a jolly green jiggling jelly, perhaps? and then maybe some juice and something ice cream?

I've thought alot about this as well.

Two options are possible here:

1. The attainment of the avatar happens when a step is completed which also happens to be a step in advancing into the plot.

2. The avatar, or attainment thereof, are subsidiary to the plot and performing the actions required to attain the avvie are not required to advance in the plot.

If #1 is true, we have to examine possible ways of attaining the avvie.

a. The prime assumption is that it will be attained with a successful mixing in the cooking pot. If #1 is TRUE, then the items we need to mix will HAVE to be readily available, or cheap, or free, as I don't see TNT throwing up a major expense as a roadblock to participating in the plot. It simply wouldn't be fair to users with little/no NP to block them out so early.

b. What are other possibilities for attaining the avvie that do not concern the cooking pot? Visiting orange blumaroos, etc. (which I understand has been done, at least casually, to no effect.)

If #2 is true, then either the plot has not yet begun (from an interactive stand point) or the avatar search has derailed everyone's attention from what we are supposed to be finding.

I want to add that apparently the book that was on his lookup was Cooking With Chef Boulgar. IMO it's either a hint that we do need to figure out a recipe, or a red herring to get people distracted by recipes :P . Either way I didn't witness that first hand. Currently his lookup has that new orange gummy Blumaroo cube item, the one that was announced in the news this week on Blumaroo day (I don't know the name of it as it's not released yet).
