excess NP in my account

A couple of times lately, I've gone on neopets in the morning and had excess NP in my account. Usually, the last thing I do before leaving the site is deposit anything over 3000 NP into my bank. But today, for example, I had 20,325 NP. I checked my shop and SDB -- nothing's been sold. I had no offers on any trades or auctions. I didn't have a gift icon. My bank account has the same amount of NP in it. Yesterday I definitely started with 3000 NP, and I only did my dailies and Kou Jong, so I know I had nowhere near 20K when I went to bed (even if I did forget to go to the bank).

Someone did send a password request to my e-mail account yesterday, but I'm reasonably sure they can't hack my e-mail. I did change my NP password anyway. I have my PIN enabled for everything. But nothing's missing -- it's just that sometimes I have more NP than I should. I do sometimes use Pigglletta's guide, and I have completed the petpet adventures orb quest and clicked on the Monster House website link a few times this week. Have they changed the way they award the NP for sponsor links so that you get it once a week now? I thought people said they weren't getting any NP at all, but have other people ever noticed more NP than they think they should have? Does anyone know anything else that gives delayed NP?

Any suggestions on what I should do? If I've been hacked, it seems to be a very benevolent hacker. I don't know what sort of glitch would generate random amounts of NP. This has happened enough now in the past month that I can no longer assume it's just me forgetting to deposit my excess NP in the bank...

Several things can award NP without you needing to be present. High scores of the day, for example, will show up after 4:45 am. If you visit websites, watch trailers, or send cards for NP ... sometimes it will takes 24 hours for them to process.

The thing is, I'm moving soon, so the only things I did yesterday were the normal dailies (wheels, Tombola, shrine, interest, etc.) and Kou Jong. Same thing Friday. Well, Friday I also played Monster House and Kou Jong. Earlier in the week, I did do the petpet adventures and a few sponsor site visits -- but definitely not 20k worth (maybe 6k worth, max)... I just checked my user look-up, and I don't have trophies for any games that should give me NP (besides, the NP showed up before 4:45 NST). If anything, I'm doing less on neopets, not more. I guess I'll just assume it's from the sponsor site visits, and they're just taking longer to register...

Nope...same thing happening to me in my account. I logged in this morning to find an extra 20k but figured it might be due to my short term memory loss so I deposited it. An hour later, another 8k appeared. I checked PIN, email, etc. - everything is normal. Don't have anything pending that would award NP to my knowledge...UNLESS! COULD IT BE! prizes from the Altador Plot? hahahha Well, anyway, I sent a bug report after checking the boards since it seems to be happening to more than just me. I'd sure like to keep that extra 28k...

I stay logged in constantly (no one else uses my computer) and I just refreshed, and found I had another 300 np that weren't there before, so maybe something's happening...

Edit: make that another 2,300 np. I refreshed again after emptying out my till and got another 2k...

Have you guys clicked sponsor website links or "find the hidden NP games" in the past month or so? Maybe they're finally awarding those NP that never showed up...

Otherwise, I guess it could be plot-related. Sometimes I get the NP from the LC before I get the e-mail saying I won. *crosses fingers*


Err, never mind. I have ANOTHER 20K extra!

hm, same thing is happening in my account, I logged in and had 9000 (I deposited everything before bed) I thought I must be crazy so I deposited that, thinking surely I had just forgot last night. Then I looked and had 3700 Nps, went to the neoboards to see if any one else was having the same problem and then had 6700...

I'd like to send in a bug report as well, but browsing through the topics, I have no idea where to send it. Any suggestions?

Oh,I haven't played any games today, haven't done Piggatella's guide in weeks, and can't think of anywhere that they could be coming from late. I would love to keep it, but I would hate to get in any trouble for a glitch. <shrug>

I haven't done pigglletta in a few weeks - since it stopped giving out NP. I suppose this could be it coming through FINALLY if they've fixed it but it has been 3 or 4 weeks now. If that's it I reckon TNT still owes me a couple more days worth of np for clicking! I sure hope they've fixed it and it is giving out NP again. That would be like a double good thing instead of being paranoid about my account and getting accused of something I didn't do!

Edit: I went and did a couple click-for-np things - PSP Petpet Adventures, Toon Town and 1 Verb Yellowball. I got the NP a few minutes later. pigglletta petpage is now updated with the news that click-for-np is working and the links are back up. Hope this is where my extra np came from!

I just got the 3k I knew I hadn't gotten from a bunch of things I clicked on about a week ago. I think TNT finally has fixed the cards and games!

I haven't had any sort of random increase in my NP, kind of glad for that. I'm sure I'd be going three different types of crazy.

I also have about 20k more this morning than I had last night. The only game I've been playing recently is Ultimate Bullseye and my dailies.

Although yesterday I did get a random event of somebody getting a lottery ticket. Maybe that had something to do with it.

EDIT: I just realised the extra NP may not be a bug after all. I just noticed I'm not showing as having made any offers on the Trading Post, even though I know I did. I guess I must have missed seeing the event icon for it. (Or maybe the missing event icon is a glitch in the system)

Getting this too. I got over 600 this morning and another 200 just now. I was coming here to ask if anyone else was getting this glitch. I've done the Wheel of Monotony and gotten lotto tickets which I thought was the source until I looked and I haven't won anything on the lotto.

I got an extra 2k while I was at work. I had 5k out when I left, when I returned I refreshed and had 7k. I haven't entered any contests or anything as far as I can remember.

Edit: I just got another 1k. Strange...
