Also- The Nimmo was lock in the storeroom because the captain locked him in there. thats what i get from the comics. and he (the nimmo) didn't finish before eating because..well i guess he was really hungry...?
Don't worry, we are all entitled to that first double posting mistake.
To clarify, according to all the stories, Hoban was in a locked storeroom. I don't believe it is stated who locked it or why, but if anyone were to be the one to do it, I would think it would be the stockkeeper. Of inventory. Weapons are supplies. (?) So, Orrin, the Nimmo. Also, the Shoyru, Kentari, was the one that finished dinner first and noticed Chef coming out of the weapons room to replace a mysteriously vanished best knife of his. Hmmmmmmm. Everything still points to Orrin, the actual claimed witness of someone falling (or being pushed) overboard. I am dying for his story.
EDIT: And for the rest of ya scurvy ridden sea swine, I'm with Scott, there's a ship and people love to talk pirate, so ya better be lovin' that thar!
Lest we makes ye walks the planks, see!? Hahahah. Sorry. Heh.
Hrmm...I re-read the comics and my insight so far...
-Orrin was locked in the storeroom because the Captain wanted him to finish up the inventory. If the Captain is the only one with the keys into the storeroom, then how exactly would you explain Hoban ending up in the LOCKED storeroom (keeping in mind that Orrin left before Hoban).
-In the Chef's rendition of what happened, he's washing the dishes and then the Captain yells "All hands on deck! We've not a moment to lose!" However, in Kentari's rendition, the Chef is coming out of the weapons room (which I'm guessing is different from the storeroom since the storeroom would be locked) HIDING the knife he took when the Captain yells, "All hands on deck! We've not a moment to lose!" So both their stories conflict in terms of where the Chef really was before they hit the storm.
-Also regarding the Chef, in his story, he's coming out of the weapons room with the knife out, exposed to all. In Kentari's story, the Chef is coming out of the weapons room with the knife HIDDEN, not exposed to all. Ah...conflicts.
-Someone mentioned that Orrin did it (i.e., push Hoban out) because he was the only witness. WELL, Orrin says he HEARD a scream and saw SOMEONE fall into the water. He probably didn't know who it was and not until they mentioned that Hoban was missing that they could've assumed it was Hoban that Orrin saw falling. And, judging by the fact that Orrin wears glasses, I don't think he has very good vision so it's a reasonable excuse...right...? Don't quite know where I'm trying to get with this.
-Lastly, this is probably unimportant, but I noticed in the Captain's tale, the folks are eating what seems to be rice and fish and Linae is slurping up spaghetti. HOWEVER, in both Kentari's and the Chef's stories, they all seem to be eating broccoli (or some other green food)...
Hmm...
Set by that genius, WIS. THANK YOU WIS!!!!!
