What's the first thing you remember about playing Neopets?

created my first pet, a Uni, bought a book (about Unis) and videos since they were real easy to buy then (they didn't go poof after reading). played lots of Kacheek Seek, which was the only real np earner when I joined.

I remember getting all excited first time i got something from the food shop, which was a lollypop (was blue then, and the pic was submitted by a player!)

I remember saving up all my neopoints for a magical plushie for my Gelert to play with... and then when I FINALLY got it I let my Gelert play with it... and she changed species! I was so mad, I forget what she turned into though. Oh and this was a long time ago BEFORE they put the warning in the item descriptions.

I remember my first pet's name was typoed And I didn't notice until a good 6 months into the game. Then for some reason I abandoned all 4 of my pets, left my account alone for a few more, then returned and created my current oldest pet I think the reason I left was because I was frustrated at the navigation to the site. For some reason I couldn't find the big map of the world that you use to go places and stuff (explore >.>) I was dumb.

I accidently created four pets all with the same name variation.
And I think I lived at the money tree for a while.
And I was really upset that my pet couldn't wear that stupid scarf.

I signed up under the right age, and I had to have my mom fax that permission slip thing for me. xD

My first thought as I created my main:

"Ok, I'll go in, make a pet, join the guild [Name Omitted] wanted me to join to show my support, then log out and only bother to show up once a week to contribute to the guild board and maybe feed my pet."

Ah, back when Bruce Forsythe roamed Neopia and it was still owned by Adam and Donna. I remember how close-knit it all felt: you could email the support address and wind up talking to Donna about which soy milk was best. The closest analogy I could come up with would be PPT now.

There were chat rooms in the shops (pre-COPPA) and I remember a memorable occasion when the Food Shop was populated entirely by people with dog usernames. We barked at each other in the chat for a while. 'Twas fun.

I remember that Hypno Helmets were way much cheaper then than are today.

I remember seeing Pinkpt advertised in the Neoboards and joined this forum because of it.

I joined a guild to 'save' orange fuzzles. They were junk items then because they gave them out in newbie packs. So in the guild, all the members gave our leader orange fuzzles. I mustve sent her at least 500 orange fuzzles before I realized it was stupid, and I should keep the fuzzles myself.

I also have memories of visiting my cousins house and playing on her account before I had my own account. Then she decided she didnt want that account anymore, and so we posted a bunch of cuss words on the boards It was 6 years ago, and neither of us knew of the self-freeze link or how to be mature.
