Here are my pet's stats:

Level : 33
Health : 54 / 54
Strength : EXCELLENT (47)
Defence : EXCELLENT (50)
Move : EXCELLENT (51)

For some reason just can't seem to beat Meuka..my pet just doesn't last for even 2 hits - 1st hit, my pet's HP is already down to 6/54, and the 2nd hit is game over already. I tried using the sticky hand just like what Cranberry said, but it just never worked, what went wrong?

Someone please help me...THANKS IN ADVANCE...

It all really depends on how much np you're willing to spend. IDB has a great guide on what to get.

Hold onto your seats people... the SL is back.

But in terms of Stats, is my pet strong enough to beat Meuka?

Here is my general rule for 1-player opponents (it doesn't apply to all of them, but it's a decent rule of thumb): if you have standard weapons for your stats, you can usually beat a 1-player opponent who is one or maybe even two strength boosts above you -- so if you have the 35 boost, as you do, you should be able to beat Meuka, who has the 55 boost (one above you). However, that is assuming you have decent weapons. If all your weapons are in the 6-8-icon range, you should grab a couple 9-iconers like Stone Club and Ice Club (or even the new Tyrannian Lupe Tooth) and then use the strategy I posted earlier in this thread (which I will repost slightly changed below)... or train until your strength is 55.

Weapons:

-Two good attackers (9-iconers are fairly cheap now)
-One freezer
-Leaf Shield
-Purple Sticky Hand
-Downsize!
-A healer
-One-use bomb like ornate fighting fan or chocolate chip battle biscuit to use when he's frozen

1: freezer*, purple sticky hand, burrow
2: two strongest weapons (usually main attacker and bomb), fierce attack
3: two strongest weapons, sink
4: best weapon, (stolen) downsize power plus, fierce attack
5: best weapon, downsize!, species ability
6: best weapon, leaf shield, species ability
repeat #6, or heal if you need to, or whatever.

* Now, round 1 is really going to suck unless you want to shell out for a scroll of freezing, because you're going to have to get lucky and have your freezer freeze AND your purple sticky hand steal at the same time, and that doesn't happen a lot. So expect to have one or both of them miss and have to withdraw and heal quite a few times. Luckily, you can heal just by fighting Inflatable Balthazar, who can't punch back. ;)

Thanks Cranberry for the tips! I will get some 9-iconers then..

Is it cheaper to buy the honey potion or work your way up slowly in the Illusens Quest to get it? (Just thought I should ask now so if I need to upgrade, I can start working hard now ) :P

I'm kind of new to the BD (it didn't interest me when I started Neopets, but I'm beginning to see the fun in it), so I could use a little advise what to get (I'm saving for the #6 avatar, so I wouldn't mind if it wasn't too expenssive)... My current battle set is mostly prizes, well all of them except downsize, so if any one have any advise what to keep and what to swap out :)

My current BD pets stats:
Species : Tuskaninny
Agility : 168 (ULTIMATE (168))
Attack Strength : 194 (ULTIMATE (194))
Defence Strength : 50 (EXCELLENT (50))
Current hp: 425 / 425
Level : 51

What I currently have equiped:
Ring of the Lost
Honey Potion
Ramtors Spellbook
Wand of Reality
Downsize!

Oh, and I have most of the faerie abilities :D

I beat Meuka and The Brain Tree but I'm up to Commander Garoo now and I need some help. I've got my pet stats and weapons in my previous posts.

If you are stuggling now with the updated weapon set then it may be that you need to increase your stats.

I think to get 'beserk' as a option you need level 30 with strength of 50.

You will have to up your level before you can train any other stats though.

As i said before, do it now while it isnt too bad, and you can do it cheap.

You get berserk automatically at level 50. If you drop below level 50 again, you lose it. :)

Spongeybob Squareypants, I agree: train. Even someone with the best Hidden Tower weapons can only get so far in DoN without training their pet. Training is very, very important, and the amount of damage you can do increases a lot between certain boosts. Read my first couple posts in this thread for more about strength boosts. :)

Jordegern, those are excellent weapons for someone who's not even a BDer! I'm going to assume you do 1-player only. Activate the faerie abilities I have listed in one of my page 1 posts, and pick up some kind of freezer. Obviously a 100% freezer would be best, but they all run around 6 mil+, so a black frost cannon or a rainbow frost cannon would suffice. If you need the cannon to freeze in a certain round and it doesn't, you can withdraw from the battle (there's no penalty in 1-player), fight Inflatable Balthazar to heal, and try again. Also, grab a Greater Healing Scroll. It's a little too weak for the amount of hit points you have, really (it only heals 50), but it's better than nothing. The only other non-multi-mil options are species healers -- elephante, kacheek, gelert, and lenny being the best. Finally, a simple Purple Sticky Hand is very useful against many 1-player opponents (some of them have lovely Ice Dice, Downsize Power Plus, or Thyoras Tears you can steal).

bluehypnosis, it's cheaper to work your way up to a HP through Illusens quests, but there's no guarantee you'll get one -- many people fail. Level 34 is often expensive, and level 35 is always a r99, and getting that item during the 16 minutes can be a problem. Sometimes there will only be one on the TP, or it'll cost more than the HP itself is worth, or you won't be able to buy one in time, or -- and this is the worst -- it will be an item that was announced but not actually released, so none exist in Neopia. It's easier to just save up for the HP unless you're a very lucky person. ;)

Yeah that sounds good, I need 8 more strength then I have the 55 boost but I also need lots more defence. I'm saving up for a Golden Compass and more training. :D

Hiya all!

I am still working on increasing my stats, while putting together a better weapon set and i just need some quick advice.

I have the following now:

Pike Pike
Ice Club
Psellias Fighting Fan
Scuzzys Comb
Honey Potion
Snowglobe Staff
Greater Healing Scroll
Downsize!
Patched Magic Hat
Purple Sticky Hand

Obviously I need to buy a better freezer, the black frost cannon being the best for my price range at the moment, but should i sell one of the weapons to help do this? (apart from the snowglobe staff as that needs to be sold if i get a better freezer)

Thanks for the help!

First of all you go to the Training School and you train Endurance and I can see why you're having trouble when your HP is so low. I recommend you training your HP to at least 30 then get your Strength to the next boost (35) and Defence to 30. Sell off your other weapons for now or keep them safe in the safety deposit box.

For weapons I recommend this set

Ice Club/Stone Club
Psellias Fighting Fan
Purple Sticky Hand
Greater Healing Scroll
Leaf Shield
Downsize!
Snowglobe Staff
A bomb like Snowballs or Muffins

I'm not sure if this will work out as your budget is a bit of a problem go for this set but I'm not sure if you have enough money left over, just train your HP first then go for the weapons and good luck with Ghost Lupe and Eyrieki. :D
