For future reference, the next time Neopets fails, it could be one of several things that are unrelated to your browser.
1) It could be that Neopets had attempted to block certain game types - gambling games, hint hint - for your region and engaged in overkill. Change your country to something less restrictive, such as the United States, the Czech Republic, or Antarctica (I think that's where I am, according to Neopets records).
2) Some script kiddie might be attempting some sort of attack on Neopets servers, or perhaps a particularly persistent scammer is operating on the same ISP as you are. In that case, Neopets might have an automated system to temporarily block all access attempts from your ISP (which would explain why some Aussies can access it and others can't).
3) Your own ISP might be reacting to some sort of attack originating on its network towards Neopets, and just blocking all Neopets access until it localizes the problem.
I thankyou for your reply, but the information doesn't really help work out what the problem was.
After I ran every conceivable test to prove it wasn't my computer, it was obviously a 3rd party problem. As anything outside my computer is out of my control, all I could do was wait for it to clear up.
If I still had problems 24 hrs later, I could have contacted my internet provider to see if it was something their end.
