Huh? That would be like saying the "Termy is up!" threads are "others doing the work and letting you know". If I noticed that Tarla is around, I would notify others too. Also, all they'd need to do is post when Tarla is out (pretty much like they already do now), but in a seperate thread, leaving this one for discussion of Tarla.
In essence, it allows one to be notified only of the "Tarla is out" posts without the "But what item was it?" stuff.
Funny, you should mention Turmy. I posted when he was a wake sometime last week. I actually had people posting on the thread that I
should have put in the link to Turmy to save
them time. No, thankyou but a complaint. That is what happens when people
expect things all the time.
My point is that you would like a thread dedicated only to an Alert, so you don't have to worry about watching for the Alert yourself. Once other's see that other's will do the work, eventually no-one is going to do it.
I have seen it happen in the Help Forum with the MP hunt. No-one was searching in the end, only waiting for the answer.
