I'll post it again, as probably nobody will see it on the last thead
something everyone seems to misunderstand: the second island on the map is one of the ice islands south of KI, and NOT MI, due to KI alignement. north is on the bottom left corner, not on top of the map, KI is rotated if you compare it to neopia map.
So the trajectory is probably comming FROM MI (wich is somewhere on the top left corner) and going to the ice island, with the red modification pointing at KI. Witch make no sense to me right now, but I suppose we will get more hints in a few days *cross fingers*
Ego est imperare orbi universo
1. Linae thought Anshu went down to the deck to check medical supply
2. Anshu went down to the deck to fix the leak (captain ordered him so)
3. Yet after that Linae went down to the deck to help Anshu fix the leak...
Funny how the captain NEVER mentioned this whole "Anshu! Fix the leak!" thing...

Yep, and there are some other inconsistencies between Anshu and Linae's stories. Linae says Anshu went below right away to put up medical supplies, while Anshu said he was ordered to repair the leak. Linae does eventually say she repaired a leak with him but at the end of the storm, not the beginning...which makes more sense anyway since the storm had done damage by then.

I've just been rereading the comic and trying to work out the clues since I usually suck at solving mystery stories. So what I want to know is why didn't we get to question Orrin first? He was the only guy who claims he witnessed Hoban falling in the water!
Oh, everyone thinks I'm crazy, just 'cause I try to warn people about the face-sucking aliens headed for Earth. Yeah, laugh now, have your face sucked off later. When the aliens come, I'll be the only one left with a face, and I'll be using that face to laugh at all of you, even though I'll be sad.

Actually, if you look at the outline of both islands they clearly resemble KI and MI...Couldn't tell you why KI is 'rotated' though...
As for the red circle on the non-grid map, my guess is either a hidden island or that large Greenland-ish island west of Maraqua. Either way, I'm assuming that the asian-ish writing next to it is meant to indicate that it's the island they came from (and an island that will appear on the map after the plot)
...No idea about the grid... Seems most likely that the 'X's are just coordinate readings to make sure that they were on the right path.

Am I the only one who can't see the map on the table? When I click on it I get a page with just "There are two islands on this map, and what appears to be the Cyodrake's gaze. Someone has drawn on the map in red ink." With nothing below it but the Back to the Map Room button.
Did I miss a step or something?

My first thought was the circle was Faerieland. It wouldn't be on a map of the sea because it floats above the world.
Rest in Peace my beautiful Sheep-

But since the ship can fly and was already at Faerie Land, their navigation maps should include that dimension too. Although they're awfully flat looking, eh?

someone mentioned this in the other thread and i noticed it too the linae said she and Anshu were talking about how bad the food was but he says it was a medical problem she was having... perhaps she really did have a med. prob. or maybe anshu and herself are in together on something?
about not interviewing the first mate....well i'd guess that there would be no need for the captain to have us to interview him b/c they were always together.
I really am begining to believe they all have some sort of agaenda here..

I think you might be right about Linae and Anshu; Linae and everyone seems to be enjoying their food in Anshu's version. On the map, it does look like the x marks the storm area and that the ship was taken off course on purpose to get around to the little circle area, where Hoban jumped ship (perhaps meeting someone?). Could the grid possibly indicate where Hoban wanted to traverse Krawk Island? It doesn't seem to follow any pattern visible on Neopia in general.
Edit: Well, I don't know; that seems kind-of silly or difficult (the grid relating to Krawk Island).

I got it!
Shumi, Chef and Anshu are secretly planning mutiny.
Meanwhile, Hoban finds treasure maps in an old corner of the ship, but only feels to confide in Orrin and the Captain.
Shumi gets word of this through the Captain and tells Chef and Anshu.
Hoban overhears the plan and threatens (a little too loudly enough to halt conversation) his infamous prophecy.
Shumi, Chef and Anshu then conspire to poison Orrin and lock him in the storeroom so they can handle Hoban one on one later.
Linae got the plate of bad food by mistake.
Linae tells Anshu about her stomach discomfort so he plays Kou-Jong over some herbal tea to take her mind off things.
Anshu steals a Lost Desert piece of the game and plants it on Hoban hoping to blame Hoban if the mutiny plan goes wrong.
Unbeknownst to Hoban the game piece accidentally falls above deck near where he was seen last sulking.
Orrin, having bad eyesight, trips over the game piece, falls unconcsious and Shumi locks him away in the storeroom for "safety."
Linae is confused when she finds the evidence later in her herbally induced haze from Anshu's healing concoction.
When Anshu and Linae are called below deck to fix a leak, they capture and smuggle Hoban below deck, there is a struggle, but Hoban decides to jump ship with his maps.
Orrin hears it all, but being locked away cannot see any details of the crime.
The rest of the crew are acting suspicious because both their Plan A and Plan B went wrong and they have not attained either their aim of mutiny or acquision of treasure maps.
Oh well, I think there is a conspiracy anyway but I don't know what it is.
