Well thought i'd toss in my vote the poses and the colouring is great but something in the face is off for the face I think it that with the slicked back hair the head shape look more like the Gnorbu than a Kyrii. I think the way its drawn the head shape is streached out/elongated a little.

Ah well as some one who draws a lot (though not my neopets much or well) I was trying to see just what it was about them that made them look off to some folks including me.
Heh, this is from a person that took three months to get used to the gelert when they redid it a long ways back.
'sides there can allways be varation within a speicies in real life, why not with neopets?

I do like their designs, too. I would say they're my favorite royals so far
I think that is it for me Brunosis, is that their faces look like Lamameeah's face. They just dont look like Kyrii's to me at all and dont deserve to be titled Kyrii's.

i personally like them
i do agree that they don't look exactly like kyriis, but i think that a lot of pbs change the appearance of the pets.. so i guess it's a give and take
but i do like these colors, surprisingly, since, like many others have said, i am not a fan of kyriis
btw.. to your credit.. perhaps the reason i like them is because they really don't look like kyriis... so... i'm def. not saying your wrong

I'm married!!! June 2, 2007! AND!!! We're having a baby! Due April 19, 2008!!!
To add my opinion to the mix...I really like the girl, not so much the boy (but I don't like the boys much in most of the species able to be painted royal). I don't think they look a thing like Kyriis, but for me that's good because I've never really liked the Kyrii. I agree that they look more like gnorbus...which is odd, because I don't much like gnorbus either. XD

I can see where people think these latest two Kyriis are a little off in the face, but quite frankly, I don't think it's enough of a problem to warrant a redraw. That's a very minor detail, and I'd rather see pets with 3-4 year old art and major detail flaws (basic scorchios and peophins for example) get a redraw well before the Royal Kyrii.
When the Maraquan Gelert first came out, I remember many people commenting that, while the idea of a dog/octopus thing was more creative than just another merpet, it just wasn't done well. Most people didn't like it or were indifferent. So when it was revamped, there wasn't much of a fuss, and in many ways the new Maraquan Gelert did look much better.
You're not going to have the same reaction with a redraw of the Royal Kyrii. When it was first found, the reaction to it was almost overwhelmingly positive. If the artists completely redesign it now, the backlash would most likely be horrific, especially from those who had rushed out and bought a Royal PB and painted their pet because they loved the old design, and now are stuck with something they don't like until they can fix it. In some cases, that could set them back months or even a year or two, depending on how they make their NP.
And as for the original comment on how they don't "look Royal" - I must respectfully disagree. I'd say the demeanor of both the Royalboy and Royalgirl Kyriis is more...well, Royal than most of the others, which is part of the appeal. The slapping with the glove, the haughty look of the boy and the prim and proper (until you cross her, then she throws a queen sized tantrum as well as most of her cosmetics at you) look of the girl are very befitting of an aristocratic color. The artwork conveys this concept very well. Honestly, how much more "royal" do they need to look?
If the faces are the major problem, they can be tweaked later on without having to go through the trouble of drawing up alternate designs, then getting them approved, then setting up a poll, then letting it run for a month or so, then tallying the votes, then finalizing the winning design and drawing up all the poses for it, then uploading them all to the servers - all of which takes up valuable time and resources that can be better spent elsewhere. I'm not saying that Neopets players should just hush and accept every pet that's created, or that they can't express their disapproval over a pet design and ask for a new one. I'm just saying, I don't think all that is necessary in this case.
The Royal Kyrii ain't broke. Don't fix it.

I agree completely with Rakumel. Except that I wouldn't even want to 'tweak' it. It's perfect as far as I'm concerned.
And frankly, kyriis look a bit like gnorbus to begin with. Gnorbu=sheep's head on llama's body, kyrii=sheep's head on mulleted weasel's body.
I actually think the main reason they look less kyrii-ish to some people is that the heads aren't as huge and the godawful mullet-hair has been tamed.
The main thing is, the overwhelming majority of people not only approve of these kyriis, but like/love them. So there's no chance - and no need - for TNT to change it to suit a small minority.
I'm not trying to bash your opinion, Slime Lord, but maybe you should've done a poll first to see whether you could get any support for a motion to revamp.

Why does this deserve its own thread?
Honestly, I could make a million threads on how I don't like such-and-such pets, but that doesn't mean I should or will.
The kyriis are new, well-drawn and, in my personal opinion, absolutely faboo. The lines are thin, they're proportionate and consistant from pose to pose. If you want to complain about something, complain about the mutant uni.
