That's right, I'm in college now. Quite fun. Extreme amounts of stress at times...my schedule consists of 6 classes, one bassoon lesson, marching band, wind ensemble, double reed ensemble, and some dumb lecture thing about time management that all freshman music majors have to attend. And I just got hired as a dish washer and sandwich maker at one of the dining halls. What fun. Also, for some classes I've got to run between classes with a violin and across campus with a bassoon. Not really fun, especially since the violin is apprantly very delicate compared to my woodwinds and I have no idea how to fix it, let alone play it (I'm in Strings 1, you see).

The dorms are great; I got lucky and was assigned to a three-person room that had just been renovated. Only bad thing is the blandness of the white walls...we're still trying to put pictures and various other stuff up to decorate it.

I'll still be able to hang around (always have been, not always speaking but present), but that's what I'm up to when I'm not at the computer.

And, to tie all of this in with the topic title, one day in band camp was sectional spirit day. So, all of the clarinetists dressed up in togas to symbolize 'traditional' college fun. I do have a picture, but I'm not sure if the other 17 or so people in the section would appreciate me posting it here. :P

Six classes eh? How many units? My schedule is basically six classes too, but only 13 units. Of course, the max I ever did was 15, and that wasn't that bad.

The rest of the activities sound crazy (this from a guy how actively and enthusiastically signed up to play with radioactive materials for a year).

Hope you have fun! (You can share the pic. We don't mind. You don't have to tell the rest of your section :P)

Talking about Togas, I came third in a Classics quiz last night. Horrah for Chris.

Toga's are fun.

In my first year we went to a toga party. Me and my friend (who then became my housemate later on) went to the markets to buy some fabric. as it was cheaper we got some beige fabric rather than white. But... we didnt buy enough and our togas were a little short.... aaaaand, my friend wore white undies under her toga, which once we got into a nightclub with UV lights glowed through her toga. That was a lesson we remembered!

In Classics, there are no winners. Only people who don't try to boink their moms.

So, most people.

Medea is kind of a winner. I mean, she gets away with everything by toddling off to Athens. Though I suppose killing your own kids doesn't make you so much of a winner per se...

Herakles was deified for hitting everything with a club, that's pretty good.
