thank goodness! I don't even mind Jeffery winning. Now we can get down to the real designers. No more stupid granny circles or vincent getting a little too happy with his designs. (I swear, I bet he designs naked at home).

I was v. scared for Michael though. Thank goodness he got through!

Hey I liked Vincent, he was hilarious. But he was a crappy designer, can't deny that.

Bradley and Malan were better TV. Vincent should of been gone with the basket on the head deal.

I hated Jeff's dress. It looked like a clown's costume.

But, I mean, what do I know about couture? ._.

I personally liked Uli's dress better.

Jeff's dress was fabulous. It actually looked like something you'd see on a catwalk.

I must say, I really liked Kane's dress.

The corset back was really fabulous.

Jeff and Uli's were really amazing too.

I really liked Kayne's dress as well, I thought it was nowhere near as tasteless as the judges made it out to me. Nick Verreos said he liked it too in his blog.

Two weeks in a row I am happy with the judges decisions. There was something good in Paris' air...someone should bottle it and make Nina inhale directly. But that said, the challenge for this week was pretty ridiculous. Overall, everyone's designs were pretty crappy when you think about what they were supposed to be designing, but I'll get into that. I really didn't like how they made the designers fit their dress to two different models. These people need more time and more hugs. No one should have to do everything so quickly. Too bad it makes such good Tv.

Is it awful that whenever Catherine Maladrino spoke I immediately thought of Talledega Nights? Which I'm pretty sure makes me a horrible Will Ferrell loving american. Which makes me really sad. But anyway.

Finally, Vincent is gone. I had read rumors that his model was one of the three to walk in fashion week, and as he kept on getting her, I was worried he might just make the top three. Praise little baby infant 6 pound 8oz jesus (I saw that movie too many times, as I went with a few different people). His dress looked like...a the wrapping paper you'd buy at macy's. It even had the ugly little bow. He was pretty much talentless throughout the entire competition, but finally, it was recognized. And how he kept on going on and on about how he studied couture and how fabulous he was..ugh. Three things I am glad I will not hear about anymore: 1. His 401k (kinda sad, but make sure you have the talent to back that kind of decision up) 2. How his designs get him off. I do not need to explain that one. 3. How everyone around him is an amateur (We have Jeffery for that thank you v. much. And he doesn't gross me out as much.)

I was so afraid Micheal was out. I TiVoed through the end, made sure he wasn't, then went back and watched. But I liked how he was one of the only ones to really...try to do the challenge? He put effort into his idea and design, but really didn't have the skill level to pull it off. But nobody really did. So oh well, I hope he does better next week.

Laura. Sometimes I really like what she does. I can see the beauty of it and I can see past the riding boots and appreciate her as a designer. Other times, I think she is out of her league as a designer, and they should have kept Alison and gotten rid of her because Laura doesn't seem to have much vision. Laura designs what she likes, but she can't see outside that. And she's preggo, we get it. But do we have to see it all the time?

Sometimes Kayne is too tacky for words, but other times, the judges are too hard on him. His corset thingy was gorgeous. I didn't like the brown ribbons on it, but the rest was so pretty. If I was flat chested and had somewhere really fancy to go to, I'd atleast try that dress on...I can't really say that about any of the other dresses that were on the runway. But I do agree, that Kayne is ..not the classiest. He won't win because he is too..midwestern prom/pagent. He keeps saying he's from white trash, and while he can do beautiful, it's not 5th avenue beautiful.

Ugh, Uli. I want to like her so bad. Her dress looked really cheap in my opinion. It was her Miss USA dress with some lace on it. If I really focus on how much I didn't like it, it kinda makes me think of a disney princess nighty I had when I was itty bitty. And not in a good way.

Jeffrey won. His dress was the only one that really stood out to me as something completed and well done. That may just be because I couldn't see any detail due to the pattern, but oh well. His model sold it, he was the only one that desrved the win this week. His neck is really huge.

So yeah. That was my take for the week. Things are going to be intense from this week on. Fashion week is this week? Maybe? So we will be seeing the final four collections soon. V. exciting.

Well, when one is sewing for themselves it is sometimes easier to be in your underoos, just because you're constantly trying the piece on. But as Vincent never makes menswear he has no right to be naked. Ever. Ew.

Oh, and if I was Catherine Maladrino, I would have been SO CREEPED OUT when Vincent was telling her how magnificent she was. Unless that just happens to her all the time and she's just used to it. I wouldn't mind that then.

Sorry this was so long.

I don't really see this as spoilery, as it doesn't give anything major away, but I guess if you don't want to read opinions on the collection, don't read ahead. I'll keep it short. :P

Uli really disappointed me. Where was the color? She mixed it up, but the one thing I really truly loved about Uli was her use of color. I guess I liked it, but eh.

Michael...his collection def. had a theme. He has the same pieces over and over in different colors it seems to me. I think I liked it, I just hope he doesn't get in trouble for that. I think his collection may be too urban (or..hip hop? I dunno, too something) to win though.

Laura made pretty things, but nothing really stands out in my mind.

I really liked what I saw of Jeffrey's collection. I didn't like his long blue dress. That was sort of vulgar. But otherwise, his collection was my favorite.

Based on what is there, my guess for the top 3 is Uli Michael and Jeffrey. As to who wins? No clue.

I wish they'd kept Alison. :(

OMG YOU GUYS I MET TIM GUNN!!!!!
I am still starstruck :) Emmett from last season had a meet Tim Gunn session today at his store in New York, and me and my boyfriend went down. Several of the designers were there from the last two seasons. Here's my report:

Emmett McCarthy: Very nice, and much more flamboyant than he was on the show. I'm guessing he kept himself reserved in front of the cameras, but he was very outgoing and friendly. He's much skinnier than he looked on tv, and his hair is gray now.

Nick Verreos: Nick was such a sweetie! Looked exactly like he did on tv. I talked to him for a few seconds, he showed me the clothes he had there. We also saw him walking arm in arm with his boyfriend, they were so cute together.

Alison Kelly: Seemed nice, didn't really talk to her.

Raymundo (don't remember his last name: Didn't talk to him either (wasn't to interested), but saw him giving an interview.

TIM: The man is an absolute doll! He was so incredibly nice, he chatted with everyone who came in. When we got to him, he stood up and shook our hands, and even introduced himself (like we wouldn't know who he was :) I told him we were from PA, where Jay McCarroll was from, and he was so excited. He posed for pictures and everything, and we got his autograph. Tim looks like he does on tv, maybe a little skinnier. But he is the best possible guy that celebrity could happen to, I still can't get over how friendly he was.

When we were walking out of the store, we ran into
Kayne: Just got to say hi, as we couldn't go back in without getting in line again. He looked the same, a little scruffy. He was with his boyfriend too.

Then when were walking back to get a taxi, about a block from the store, we ran into
Malan: I shouted his name when I saw him, like a big dork :) He stopped to say hi, and we introduced ourselves. He was very nice and polite, it's weird to hear his accent in person. We actually gave him directions to the store as he was just going and wasn't sure what block it was on.

It was awesome, everyone was so nice, and Emmett really went all out. He had bottles of Evian for the people waiting in line, wine and fruit inside, and did everything to make sure everyone was comfortable. They had a camera crew there and everything.

Ack, I'm still so excited! I hope they do this again next season!

OMG sooo jealous! I absolutley love Kayne and was so sad when he got kicked off. Im sorry for Uli fans but all of her stuff looks the same. She should've been booted rather than Kayne. At least it would've been an awesome finale of Kayne shtuff vs everything looking the same Uli Miami wear.

Fri Sep 29, 2006 2:12 pm

So they let all four go onto Fashion Week. That's interesting. I guess they might as well, since most people know all four get to show anyway. I really liked Uli's dress this last challenge. I an really starting to think Laura is a one-note. She can't even stretch past neutral colors, even in her final collection.

Fri Sep 29, 2006 2:39 pm

Uli: She needs to lose, Im sorry. She has done the same dress in different versions over .. and over .. and over .. and over. She needs to switch it up and she really didn't do it. She resorted to the sixties style of her dress for that silver number. Yes she may live in Miami where that type of outfit will sell, but she isn't going to have a markey in New York where they get that lovely thing called snow. She should've been kicked out long ago for making the same type of dress over and over and Kayne should've stayed .. at least then there would've been some flare on the runway.

Michael: Hun .. you collection has been done. Her name is Kimara Lee Simmons .. perhaps you have heard of her .. she has the label Baby Phat.

Laura: The high empire hem .. the neutrals .. the ruffles .. I felt I was attending a really boring party in the only colorful thing there.

Jeff: Thank bob something interesting. I LOVED his green and white striped dress. That is totally something I would wear and could see other people wearing as well. I hope he wins .. it's about time for some rock to win. We've had unique .. we've had chique .. let's have some good ole rock and roll win!

Agreed. =D

I feel so horrible saying I want Jeffrey to win, seeing how everyone else on the planet hates him, but you can't deny that the man is good at what he does.

Sat Sep 30, 2006 7:41 pm

It's nice to see that I'm not alone in wanting Jeffrey to win. I think he has the most talent and creativity out of the remaining four. I did really like Michael, but his clothes are starting to look the same, and the last couple challenges, his clothes haven't really been made all that well, in my opinion (not that I know much about making clothes). Laura's clothes are great, if you're looking to go to a formal cocktail party, and Uli's clothes are great if you're looking to party in Miami. I think Jeffrey has the best chance to diversify his style. I'm looking forward to the big finale!
