It is a weird statement. o_O

I've been clicking all over trying to find something. XD; I doubt it means anything, but I was hopefull...

Ah well.. at least now we know how windmills are supposed to work. *coughs* Now I'll show that farmer.

Im trying to do it to see if you can still get the prizes if its done after.

I'm kind of regretting the fact that I stayed up late on the computer instead of studying for my final exams when this was all going on.

Everyone's already made all the valid points that I would make, so there's no point in repeating what's alreayd been said. Bottom line, however, is that I probably wouldn't have done the plot had I known that this was all I was getting. My main motivation, as greedy as it sounds, was the idea of a reward that would pay off in the end.

Ah well. I'm debating on if I should even bother with the next plot at all.

Why do people keep complaining about the prizes they recieve? It's not like TNT can award everyone like BD items that do 10+ icons etc. If you always have high expectations about the prizes, then expect to be sorely dissappointed each time.

I dont think anyone here expected another Ring of the Lost. There are a lot of other issues that people have brought up that dont revolve around the NP value of each item.

I'm just happy I FINALLY get a sidebar! I was so ready for any sidebar besides the yellow. :-) I'm also happy that prices probably won't be insanely high as more people continue to do the plot.

I am wondering about the "don't just take your prizes and run" comment. TNT must have known that this would rais our hopes further.

The problem is a lot of people put a lot of effort into the Altador plot and while the prizes are somewhat interesting and the sidebar is pretty, they will not have much value as they will continue to be given out. Much less effort was given out for the Cyodrake's Gaze (tons of people just guessed) and the value of those prizes are so much more, the Altador prizes aren't even in the same league. That is even besides the fact that we had to wait months for these prizes that seem to be just a toss together to get it done and over with. All those people who worked so hard on the plot and stayed up late to finish it among the first have wasted their time and effort as they find out now they could have just done it in their leisure.

I think that everyone who up to this point had finished the plot should have received something special for their time and effort. This was a bit of a letdown. :/

Nope! I am too :D

I didn't start the plot until much later (When did it originally start/finish? I remember I was busy with something but I can't remember what. College apps? Scholarship apps? Finals? Whatever), but I finished it in July in about 25 hours, sleep and life included. I guess I'm one of those "just finished last week" kind of people everyone keeps referring to and hating ;P I do admit everyone getting the same trophy is a little lame though. But I'm in need of a gold one, my last decent trophy was Hannah. XP

Honestly I would've been happy with just the cash and the sidebar. Every time a strong BD weapon is given as a prize for something, my personal BD set gets even more useless. It's like.... icon inflation o_O

The sidebar is UBER, by the way. I love the colors, and I can actually tell how much np I have on hand! Aside from yellow, this is the only sidebar I have that I can say that about. Although I don't really see how blue and yellow matches black/white/purplypink?

I disagree the Altador Plot was MINI in any way, shape, or form.

I think the prizes should have been much more like the LDP, after all why did we wait months for prizes that now anyone can buy instead of doing the actual plot? Sort of defeats the purpose of even keeping it open.

All of the prizes are ugly and I won't save any of them as keepers like I did for other plots. Even the sidebar looks unfinished to me.

*Sticks tongue out to TNT* for getting our hopes up for much more. Sigh.

I don't want to be repetitive, so I'm agreeing to that. I'm glad that my sidebar stats got raised and I got a new trophy but seriously. Such a let down. In action, the side bar is kinda ugly. :(

This was the first plot I ever participated in and I'm quite disappointed.

I'm somewhat disappointed in the plot, too, but not necessarily because of the prizes or the remaining openness or whatever.

I think what gets me is that I know they were probably sitting there TRYING to get it to work like the LDP, where we'd receive a certain number of points based on what tasks we completed. You do something, you get a thousand points or whatever. You do something based on that first something, 10,000.

But I would posit that what happened is that they got screwed up with the CG plot, or they were pushed to finish it, or maybe they just realized that they never closed this one. And so they said, "well, heck, we can't give everyone who completed it great prizes, because people are still completing it and messing with our scoring system."

I think it's a management issue, not a design issue. And I think it makes me disappointed in the staff as a whole, leadership on down.

I thought Viacom would've brought some professionalism or management skills or something to this site that would show that they have their eye on the ball, and not just on profits from the TCG that not everyone is interested in.

I guess not.

Heh, I'm much more satisfied at getting a nice trophy that everyone has than loosing ou on a guess in the other one.

Sat Sep 16, 2006 5:11 am

They're saying they're leaving it open, maybe it wil always be open? Like.. forever? A kind of, neoquest plot thingy.

Altador plot took a while to do, so say you join today, or next year, you can still get a nice plot trophy that iddn't require you to be playing at a particular time.

I'm not happy with it, but i suppose if I joined neopets today, tomorow or whenever i'd be happy because i'd be able to get a really cool trophy for my lookup - which wouldn't be that easy because the altador plot did take alotta effort.

Sat Sep 16, 2006 5:20 am

I am happy enough with the prizes but what really sticks in my craw, is the fact that if someone guessed 5 correct answers in the CG plot, they got a very decent BD weapon. (There was no war in the plot!!)

But for all of us that actually got stuck into the plot and worked through it, we get jack-all in comparison.

I know we weren't going to get magnificent prizes because of the whole "mini-plot" thing but why did TNT give the CG plot such big prizes?

I could have been totally happy with my prizes for the Altador Plot, if the CG plot had prizes that reflected the little effort needed to win a prize.

In all honesty, we were ripped off.

Sat Sep 16, 2006 5:22 am

All those people who worked so hard on the plot and stayed up late to finish it among the first have wasted their time and effort as they find out now they could have just done it in their leisure.

Then perhaps those people should rethink about why they do the plots in the first place?

TNT doesn't force users to stay up late and 'waste' their time to complete these plots. You make that choice yourself under the assumption that you will get better prizes. TNT also stated it was a mini-plot and i do not recall seeing anything that mentioned better prizes for people who finished it first.

So what i was suggesting is that if the outcome wasn't what you had hoped then you either:
1) Lower your expectations.
2) Don't take part in the next plot and save yourself from potential grief.

I'm sorry to put it so bluntly but plot after plot there are always people complaining and TNT can't satisfy everyone.

I agree with what you're saying, but shouldn't management and design go hand in hand? When starting a plot (mini or not) one would hope the management would gather around a table and design it thoroughly. Including the length, timing, end date, prizes, ect. There shouldn't be that day after, 'o noes, wut r we gunna do now?' on their part at all.

I'm disappointed in the management for their poor design. I think they used the excuse of a mini plot to execute it half way.

Sat Sep 16, 2006 5:51 am

Of course they can't please everyone, but that's no reason not to strive toward that goal without upsetting the people who are usually content. I can't recall a single plot related event where they've left it open. Neoquest2 doesn't really count as people were aware of how it worked before it started, and it's only logical to assume that at the very least we'd receive prizes that would not be given out again. So people do exactly what you suggest, they don't take part in plots, they don't set goals for TNT's newest diversion, and they don't spend as much time playing Neopets. Which is all well and good for them, but kinda bad for TNT. Voicing your opinion is the only way for it to be heard, and ignoring customer complaints generally isn't a part of a plan for longevity or maxium profitability.

Personally, it's not the end of the world for me, but I don't think it's unreasonable for people to be a bit frustrated.
