I've heard rumors of the lap ray, chaning your pets name, I know the petpet lab does, but does the secret lap do the same thing?

Never. The lab ray only changes the stats that you can change yourself by training, painting, potions, etc. The pets name will never ever change.

There's no way at all to change a pet's name on the site. Sometimes I wish there was (would make adopting some pets more appealing) but that would also cause far too many confusing problems with the system.

That would take ages. And um... we don't change our names anyhow right? Ya, i guess same goes for pets. Got to stick to what you named it. Recently, my ray has been losing levels and more levels.

they'd have to change the way the pets are stored for that to happen - like they did with guilds a while ago. when guilds were sorted by the owner you couldnt change owner, now they have a number and you can change owner. i guess to allow name changes of pets each pet would have to have a unique number

And with 100's of millions of pets... that'd be a lot of big numbers to change and take a while to do, and at the same time, remove the (sometimes) unique names of pets.

It'd also mess up the searching funtion...
you'd have like 100+ results for "Times New Roman" the "(species name)", when your searching for lets say.... "times".
