So far from what I know, only a handful of Sega Genesis titles will be released at launch VC form what I've read (from Sonic to Toejam and Earl to Altered Beast, I don't remember the list of "leaked" titles on the ESRB list from the top of my head.) I believe Sega alone is expecting about 30 games on the VC by the end of the year.

Usually I wait a while before buying a new system, but we're buying the Wii as soon as it comes out (provided we have the money).
Mmmm, Nintendorkism....

As long as there's Sonic, I'll be happy.

Technically, that's the same amount in price as most game this generation already are, nothing new.

I would definitely spend most of my time playing the olden games, though... most of the games I'd want to play would be on the Genesis. Oh well. :\
*can still play 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' on the Wii... possibly*
Yeah, new games have been $50 each for several years now... and for the newest generation of systems, $50 per game is cheap.

In the UK, on average, nearly all games, you would be expected to pay $75 for, so don't think you're that badly done by...
The temptation of old games to new is making me think about getting one, but I'm still not sure. I guess I'll think about it a little longer, but it's looking to be a great console.

I feel like $250 is sort of obnoxious, but that may be because I'll only want like .. two games probably before the NEXT new system XD

If that's possible, I will be extremely happy.
Kugetsu, I think you and I are the only ones who love "Zombies Ate My Neighbours" on this forum. Heh.

I'm being paid to buy a gamecube, but i'm thinking that since i HAVE to buy a GCN (and show proof of purchase), i might just buy it and return it, and use the $100 toward the wii. agreed?
the wii IS gonna be able to play gamecube discs right? and be able to use the gamecube controllers, right? so why buy a gamecube if its gonna be around for less then a month, when i buy a wii, which can do the same thing the gamecube does, but better?

I don't think you'll be able to use GCN discs, you might have to use Wii points for that.
And as far as I can tell, the only controller it will use is the Wiimote with the joystick attachment, which will be as close as possible. Yay nunchucks!

The Wii has a slot for GCN discs, and 4 slots for GC controllers.
Its part of their whole marketing thing- Wii Points for NES, SNES and N64 and their "classic gaming controller". And a slot for GC's mini discs and 4 controller ports. Plus the usual Wii disc slot and 4 Wiimote ports.
(I don't know what info

Bearing in mind I'm currently living in Wales, I'm getting really irritated with people whining over prices. That $250 is roughly £134, whilst over here the cheapest I can find on a quick search is £220, a nasty $409 - now what exactly do YOU have to moan about? The PS2 release price over here was roughly the equivilant of $555, close enough to the $600 you'll be paying for the PS3.
Need I say more?

Well, I sorta just assumed that it didn't have it, because by looking at the pictures it didn't look like it had a spot for GCN controllers, and all the stuff I've been reading hasn't mentioned anything about support for GCN discs or GCN controllers.
Maybe that's because the GCN was a flop.
But in this case, I might decide to sell my GCN on eBay.

Heheheh, I'm just happy cause now I can put my GC controllers (... all two of them) to use still.
One thing I can complain about though (and the pricing's similar over here too JhasNeeh (Aust) so you're not alone) is the controller prices. In the US its $40 for the regular controller and $20 for the Nun-chaku. That price is simply outrageous! For me that's almost $100, which is just craaaazy for one controller and its nun-chuck
And considering that Wii Sports comes with it, we'll be needing two controllers off the bat. It adds a lot to our price (which my brother has sorted out so we get a Wii, extra controller and nun-chuck, and LoZ: TP) and I just hope the price goes down soon! And I also hope they have more colours straight away, because all white can get a little confusing when you have four of them.
